Very upscale lines! I like it a lot.

Next-Generation Camry Set for Debut Next Year
Date Posted 06-23-2005
Toyota goes to great lengths to keep its upcoming models under wraps, but we've got the latest photos of the 2007 Toyota Camry that will go on sale early next year. Unlike the 2007 Honda Accord that's getting a minor face-lift, the next-generation Camry will be all-new from the ground up.
As our spy photos show, this Camry will have a more distinctive shape than the slab-sided design of the current model. With Toyota's newfound emphasis on more dramatic designs, expect to see a more stylish interior as well. Already one of the bigger sedans in its segment, the 2007 Camry prototype in the spy pictures looks as though it may be even longer than the current model.
In addition to the usual four- and six-cylinder power plants, this will be the first generation of the Camry to offer a hybrid drivetrain. Like the RX 400h, the Camry Hybrid will most likely combine electric motors with a gas V6 to deliver even better performance than the standard six-cylinder. The Camry Hybrid will be built in Georgetown, Kentucky, making it the first Toyota hybrid to be built in the United States.
Non-hybrid models will most likely get slightly improved versions of the current engines, so expect a base four-cylinder with roughly 170 to 180 horsepower. Higher-line V6 models should fall in the 250-260-hp range, enough to keep it competitive without pushing too close to the 280-hp Avalon.
Look for a possible debut at the Tokyo Motor Show in October, with sales beginning in the U.S. next year.

Good night Accord, no way your coming close to getting that sales lead back. Both cars are usually totally re-done at the same time or within a year time frame. This is VERY odd to see the Accord just get really, a rear-lift while the Camry is pretty much all new.
I wonder does the Solara get upgraded as well?
And surely the new 3.5 V-6 makes its way into the Camry. A 280hp Camry, who would have thunk it?

, I think that enough for this car
Solara redesigns (5 year plans also, 3 then minor facelift/*** tuck lol) come when the Camry his their half generation.
99-01
02-03
04-06
07-08
rumors are circulating regarding the Solara being discontinued after the 2nd generation... but no evidence yet. Hopefully the Coupe niche will be filled w/ a faster RWD car (although it'd be dumb... because it would go heads up w/ the IS assuming the rumored coupe is realized)
Anyhow... yay.

I know they do alot of tests on those Camrys, I even hear about Toyota having a V10 camry somewhere in the company.
Must've been done by a very bored Toyota mechanic if it is true.
i want one.
my mom's 04 camry isn't the prettiest car in the world...but the little V6 works really well.
and it's got stock sway bars in the back, accompanied by a strut bar up front...despite it's wallowy appearance...it can be lightly driven!
and the new one looks even better....lower ****, lower front---lower center of gravity = a potential...."sleeper..."

Only "weird" thing this time is that the 2007 Camry is coming out early (spring 2006), and the 2006 Camry will have a short lifespan.
A new Accord will probably come out in fall 2007 as a 2008 model.
We should see a new Altima as well, in fall 2006 as a 2007 model.
So, I guess the hybrid version will be mated to the GR V6, not an inline 4.
Straightline performance may be close to a GS450h then.
-------
Redesign of the ES shouldn't be far behind. Time for every Toyota and its mom to get the 3.5 GR.

A V10 sports sedan the size of a camry from Lexus sounds good to me
