Not sure why it matters - but he is involved in offshore financial regulation.
I also like to do a little offshore financial regulation

You guys are all missing the point. He said $150k there gets basically a $50k car here. You all are mentioning $150k cars here that probably cost the equivalant of $400k there. By the way, I have heard of that island, it is not fake.

Personally, for $50k, I would go after a used 745....those are under 50 now. The S class is changing next year, the 7 series will look the same for awhile.

what you were saying about a 98 landcruiser being that much money over there, can I take a plane over there and sell my lexus for $150 K too? Let me know man, cuz I'll do that in a heartbeat. $150,000 still sounds unreal... I still believe you though

My home counrty is called Burma (now known as Myanmar). The country has been governed by the military junta for more than 40 years now. Because of the bad political situations, the majority imports into the country has been shut down for a while now in order to prevent the inflation rates. So these car imports are strictly limited and there are only small numbers ( i am not quite sure about the number but i am pretty sure it's not much more than 100) of permits are allowed. Since the demand is much much higher than the supply, the price goes up like crazy.

I am not sure what the current price for a permit is but when i left my country 3 years ago, it was around 150k US$, just for the permit, not including the car itself. And people started to buy these cars as their assets as their invesment since there are nothing left to buy. that's how the price are just insane. The majority of cars are either Toyota Landcruiser or Cygnus. There can be no sports cars since the roads has more holes than the surface of the moon.

I would say for your dad he needs a S55/600 are probably the best choices. Sounds like that would fit his style best
