Porsche GT3 vs. Z06
Nice shot. At least they're drag-racing where it is supposed to be done, not on public roads.
Although I am not normally very supportive of the domestic product, I agree that, for the money, the Z06 is a better buy than upper-level Porsches. This video shows one of the reasons why.

Not really true for a lot of Porsche buyers, either There are a multitude of other reasons why some people prefer Porsches other than to drag race them.

Actually there are other reasons why the Corvette is considered a better buy (not just the acceleration as noted in the video you posted). The Vette is lighter and does better in the slalom. But if I had enough to buy the Corvette new, I would take a slightly used Porsche over it for the same price. Yes I am biased.

And that sums up what I was trying to say to the Marshall!
Purchase decisions (especially an expensive sports car) are not always rational decisions distilled down to track results.

The Porsche, however, if the tires are the same, will probably win out in braking....the rearward weight-bias means that the forward weight-transfer on heavy braking centers the gravity in the middle of the car instead of on the front end like the 'Vette...thereby forcing all four brakes and tires to do their equal share. Porsches are known for extremely short stopping disances.
If it were my money, though, I wouldn't buy either one ...I just think that is too much to spend on a car, period. Those who DO have the money and can afford it.....more power (and handling)
to them.

The Z06 hit the limiter on the 3/4 shift.
I'm an American man so I love the Z06 and for anyone who thinks so, they're MUCH more than straight line dragsters. It ran the Ring in 7:56. That's 7 seconds faster than the 1999 GT3 (the '03 is 2 seconds faster), and the same time as the Ferraris 360 CS. I'm not trying to convince people of who to like, just giving my reasons. Can't wait for the C6 Z06!!!
