Does anyone know the current residuals on the M45 and GS430? Liz can you provide those for a 39 month lease with 12K/year?

I know that the new RL is hovering around 48% for a 36 month/12K lease. Worse than the old one by far. I spoke with an Acura sales person who told me that when someone mentions they want to lease a RL he says "forget it, won't work".

Yikes! That's not good news for Acura; such a low residual would seem to indicate that the marketplace has low expectations for the resale value of this car in a few years. Given Acura's track record near the top in terms of resale, this is surprising indeed. It's all the more remarkable given that the previous generation RL was NOT a high-demand car. It did get favorable lease terms, only because the purchase price had to be so severely discounted off sticker. That, combined with Acura's traditionally high resale let some people get RL's for a pittance!

Yes, the sales person told me he has people coming in that are paying $450/month on their current RL and they are looking at $900/month for the new one.

Eric-

Tempting huh...

My thought...I'd consider a 2 door sporty car. How about a 350Z or G35 coupe or maybe a C6 Vette just for kicks. The C5 isn't bad at this point either. As nice as a performance sedan is, sometimes a smaller car is just the answer.

Maybe a 645

Hell ya... I'm saddened to see how Lexus becomes the #1 import brand in Taiwan yet so much misinformation is still floating around due to the lack of a good Taiwanese Lexus forum. The closest one right now is the Yahoo! Taiwan's car discussion board but even that is poorly moderated and flooded with haters and inmature posts. ClubLexus @ Taiwan would be nice but then again CL has always been an English-speaking-only site and making a Chinese-speaking chapter out of it just won't seem very appropriate.

Just to give you an idea Miller Infiniti sent me an email that stated the following lease deals on the M45 Sport on 2/25:

Your Price: $58660

Best lease: 39-months, 39,000 miles $4125 drive-off,
$710+tax

So it seems they are still making a little more than they should on the deal. If you need a copy of that email let me know. I can forward it to you. I looked at that lease deal and ran and got my GS. I loved the M45 but for that money I would rather have the Lexus.

That is absurd IMO. The new RL is a nice car with one of the best AWD systems on the market, but $900 a month? I wouldn't pay that much for an LS430.

Really, #1 in Taiwan! That is great news!

A lot of cars, especially new, do get people on impulse buys. The M is doing a great job of at least having people "look" and see. The previous M didn't do that much.

Are you referring to the posts made from the States? Or within Taiwan?

The funny thing is, things are completely opposite with BMW forums. I surf a BMW forum based in Taiwan from time to time and its members are way more mature/friendly/helpful than those from any of the BMW forums in the States.

Either way, I wouldn't be suprised if there are more than a few Chinese speaking members from CL. Heck last time at the CL meet in Diamond Bar I even heard some Taiwanese spoken by people attending that meet.

It would be cool to have a CL forum based on another language other than English.

I'm Taiwanese-American and it's a no-brainer that Lexus is the top choice of lots of Taiwanese-American luxury car owners here in Southern California.
