you can say that again and again and again... it never gets old. I helped do a set up on one when i worked at the dealer. Guy at first just wanted to put some Dinan CF intakes, exhaust, and wheels. He ended up leaving with CF intakes, Exhaust, Wheels, Coilovers, higher gear pumpkin, Brembos all around, chip tuning and CF engine accesories... Total, im thinking that guy spent $12000 In one sitting. That was a fun week.... The car was supposed to be in there for 2 days, it left exactly 7 days later after all the parts were overnighted and installed. Good times!

actually, being a BMW owner, the E39 M5's (2000-2003) have a 5.0L not a 4.9L V8 motor, i know that its 0.1L difference, but its better to be exactly with information like that.

I probably knew it, at a time I was A BMW tech but when working on BMW's I was fast paced and never really stopped to look and say wow, brake jobs and 60k maintenance intervals where more important plus I left right before the M5 came in so I never really had any time to sit in it and test it out, nor did I really care.

I imagine it is more efficient since it has dual throttle bodies (1 for each bank). Now a real visual treat was the M I-6 found in the first two generations of M5 and the M6. Those engines were derivitives of the M-1 race car powerplant and had 6(!) throttle bodies - one for each cylinder. They were all fed by a massive air box on drivers side.
