Default Corvette Z06, Dodge Viper SRT10, or Ford GT

Are you still a fan of leaf springs? Want a car so hot that the side exhausts catch on fire? Or do you want a car with a roof on the door that makes it impossible to get out of when parked at the parking lot? All these cars are fast as hell. There are issues such as price, straight-line and track performance, and reliability to think about. It will be interesting to see what kind of people choose which car, whether they are Mopar, GM, or Ford fans, or those who prefer old school to new. Then there are those who are inclined to imports who base their decision on which can compete to a Skyline or Supra.

ill take the mono-leaf in the Z06 anyday GM seems to have great success using old technology. They're still using pushrod engines... but making awesome power!

If you take price out of the picture, I would say GT 40. I love the styling (practically identical to the original), and it is the only true limited one of the bunch. Has real collector value.

Now, if you add back price, gotta go Vette. Where else do you get that kind of performance from a factory car at that price!

ZO6

500 hp and 3100 lbs =

also i think they only use leaf springs on the regular C6

if you go with the Z51 handling package you get rid of the the leaf's

and i don't even think their on the ZO6 that would just be a joke

The Ford GT It is a serious Ferrai rival. And twice as much as the other cars.
I do love the Z06 though. THe viper is cool but I liked the previous gen better.

Nope, the Z06 still has the composite fiberglass leaf springs.

From C&D:

The signature transverse fiberglass leaf springs are retained. The front spring is stiffer than the one in the last-generation Z06, and the rear spring is a bit softer, thanks to the C6's greater suspension travel.
I don't see why people have such a problem with leaf springs, unless it's some kind of fear of what people think of as "old". Either way, the C5 Z06 ran under 8:00 minutes around the Ring, proving it is an extremely competent track car. These new springs have been revised from the old days so that they can handle the duty given to them. Well people also seem to have a problem with the pushrod engine, which in my opinion is ludicrous.

The leaf springs in the Vette ain't nothin to sneeze at... The Z06 gets my vote.

I was driving down the freeway today and was behind a late model Dodge Viper GTS... the rear emblem was red background with a chrome trim to make the viper emblem, and I thought that looked really cool. It turns out it doubles up as the third brake light... I never knew that.
