Default What are your favorite auto magazines?

I'm sure many CL members, if not most, read auto magazines, publications, and weeklies regularly. I spend a great deal of time reading them myself....some publish my comments and letters.
What are your favorite ones, and why? What attracts you to them? What turns you off to others? Do they influence your car-buying decisions?
Let's hear sme opinions and then I'll give you mine.

I subscribe to Car & Driver, Sport Compact Car, PC magazine, Mobile PC, FHM, PC Gamer, PS2 Magazine , X-Box Magazine and Gamer.

I paid for the first 2 subscriptions, the latter are free because of fatwallet.com.

I love SCC because they are so brutally honest.

I don't think I'm going to renew Car & Driver because I'm losing interest in it.

By far, my favorites are Mobile PC, PC Magazine and SCC because I'm a tech geek.

I get 3 magazines:

Motor Trend
Car and Driver
High Times

I think motor trend and c&d are equally good car magazines and I think its worth having both.

I subscribe to Car and Driver, Motor Trend, Automobile and 5.0 Magazine. Car and Driver has been my Automotive Monthly Bible for years. I love the writer's unique voices and their format for articles. They usually cover most of my questions and wonders for each car assessed. I usually read each issue cover to cover with anticipation the day I receive it, and then I can't wait for the next one to arrive!!! It's a sickness!! LOL I always enjoy looking through Automobile and Motor Trend to get each magazine's opinion. It can be very interesting and surprising to see how differently two magazines view a car.

Anyway, good topic! What are your thoughts mmarshall?

Well, since we all know mmarshall has subscriptions to anything ever published about cars, it'd be nice to know what the other members read.

I have a new subscription to C&D, but already I'm finding some things I don't like about their writings. In the "Backfires" section where readers write letters to the editor basically, they kinda act condescending and rudue to people who call them out. Secondly, I'm not sure the last time they included a Lexus in comparo

I might wanna subscribe to road and track because I think they get more realisitic times for cars. C&D's kinda seem to be all over the place.

Motor Trend used to be my favorite when they were still with Petersen. That big group called Primedia ruined the content. Just like how ClearChannel ruined radio.

Default fave mag

I read a lot of car mags. Here's my list
Car and Driver
Motor Trend
Automobile Mag
European Car Mag
BMW Performance
Euro Werks Mag
Celebrity Car
Modified Luxury & Exotics
Dub Magazine
Euro Tuner
Sport Compact Car
Lowrider Edge
Plush
Makes & Models Mag
All Access (sometimes, it's too raunchy most of the time)
I really miss RPM Magazine, loved it.

Correction: Tuning Werks instead of Euro Werks.
All Access is wrong too. Forgot name, I'm not home to look. I think it's Access Unlimited.

Sport Compact Car!!!!

I used to read import tuner and super street alot, but lately all they've been showing is half naked women when I really want to read about cars. I prefer SCC because they talk about cars and car parts only and not like import tuner and super street which half the magazine is based on a half naked chick. I didn't suscribe to a car magazine so I can see some half naked women!!!

My thoughts exactly . I do realize there are a number of good car magazines out there, though.

I only read Car&Driver and AutoWeek. C&D's editorial columns are well written and fun, their comparisons are interesting, and the photography is great. AutoWeek is right up to the minute with news and a no frills publication. A great quick read, especially since I don't care about the racing section and classifieds.
