Photo Blocker

Has anyone here tried this stuff. It appears to be a bit pricey for a can of it $70, and was wondering if anyone has ever tried this?
Supposedly it blocks your license plate from being read by intersection cameras.

Wow...according to those news videos from some very major channels this thing does work!
At $68 it is a little pricey but if you get ticketed by a camera then it's probably worth it.
Thanks for the info.

Actually I wonder if a type of clear lacquer (with maybe a gold tint or something) from Home Depot would give the same shine that prevents the camera from reading the numbers/letters on the plate.
Thanks for the responses guys.

I use this stuff on mine.... in Charlotte we have both red light cameras and speed cameras.

If I take a pic of my car with flash it does a pretty good job, especially from an angle.
I bought the bulk deal for several cans and split it with friends.

all those sprays used to work, now the police just reversed the image to see the negative and the numbers are clear as day.

Its a scam, all it is clear laquer you can buy at Home Depot for $5. The guys in Britian have been doing it for years.
I just got a photo red light ticket (almost $400). It was yellow, thought it was safer to go then slam on the brakes, was late by 1.2 seconds cost me $400. I'm so paranoid at yellows now I've almost been rear ended twice and gotten the horn from people behind me, TOO F***ING BAD buddy you rear end me you pay me and I don't have to pay the state another $400.
I also had my front plate removed so they used my rear shot. I did have enough time to flip off the camera as I rolled through the intersection (almost worth the $400 right there!) so I would have had enough time to put something over my face, either a hand or magazine, or my girlfirend said she'll hold up her hand since she will be blanked out anyway (they blanked out my passenger in my photo). If they can't identify you, and they won't be able to if they don't see your face, you win! Pretty easy to beat actually and FREE!!

I'm not totally sold this stuff will work (even though I bought some), BUT it definitely is more than clear laquer (at least the phantomplate stuff I listed above). It has little relective flecks of stuff you can see on the license plate after you spray it on.

You don't necessarily win. The law in most states is that the ticket is mailed to the car's owner. He or she is responsible for paying the fine....regardless of who was driving. However, there are no points assessed....precisely for that very reason. The cameras cannot always determine who is driving, and police don't even try to find out...all they do is look at the film and the camera data and see if a violation was commited. That's it. But.......they don't just automatically mail out a ticket. Sometimes they toss it out, if they feel the case is borderline or inconclusive....or it the yellow was not on long enough.
I bought the PhotoBlocker spray for $70/3 cans, sorta doubt it works, but it gives me a bit of peace of mind. Be forewarned that it does turn your license plate yellow, though, so if you care about that you definitely shouldn't get it.
