I just bought an Evo, and I'm avoiding racing it right now - launching that thing and getting it moving in line with the numbers it's capable of is not for amateurs. I raced a C32 AMG and was dead even with him, then I missed a shift and just played it off like I was slowing down anyway. The Evo is not a car for beginners, and if you don't know how to drive it you will lose. If you do know how, as I am learning, you will get a huge jump on other people and basically run away with most street races.
The most unfortunate thing is that Honda owners, for some reason, feel seriously threatened by the mere presence of the Evo, and I find myself having to purposely avoid them. It's weird owning an Evo.

but yes, the evo is fast, and can be fast together with m3 and c32. it's always about the driver as well, specially when you come to stick shift
oh and yeah, i guess it's the image of mitsubishi that honda people are always assocaiting themselves with mitsu people. no idea why. except the s2k and nsx (i put that together with the honda), honestly i don't think anything else from them might be able to touch the evo
