It wouldn't add any weight because the the chrome is actually paint..Believe it or not that is a paint that shines like chrome but maintains and is applied like just like paint..It is very pricey also, $1200 a pint..

and that is at cost..And you still need a special clear to adhere to it which is also pricey.
