Odd that that guard rail went through the grill, through the engine bay, through the firewall, through the dashboard and console, yet it crumpled up before passing through the (relatively soft) rear passenger seat.

Well it was the grille, engine, and firewall that crumpled it up *before* it hit the rear seats.
Holy crap, that is chilling. Side SRS deployed as well, talk about violent. Driver might have not been too severly injured, but let's hope there were no other occupants!
As well as Lexus cars are designed to take crashes, this is one scenario they are not designed for.
Somebody should drop that off that the nearest Lexus Dealership, hand the bodyshop manager the keys and say "fix my baby." But seriously, that's a horrific sight. Same with the minivan. . .
