I'm embarassed that I don't know this for sure, but I do believe the IS is based on a chopped GS platform.

I know the IS shares its platform with the JDM Toyota Brevis and Progres. But I am not 100% clear on the platform's origins, whether it was ground-up new, a chopped GS, or derivative of another car entirely.

Someone can confirm/dispute?

 

That is what I know. We do know it's not another Camry chassis.

around how much did you pay ....she really loves the car and has 30 days to get one

 

I am in the process of selling mine and it has been a very good car to me coming form a 98 gs. The 200 hp is really peppy and the voice activated navi is sweet aswell.

As for the pricing it only comes with one feature which is nav . Is she gonna buy new or used? The 05 tsxs have xm radio and bluetooth. the 04s do not. You can expect to pay 28000 28500 for 05 tsx nav or base should be about 26k
