Acura TSX Test Drive (PICS...LOTS)
My officemate was considering the TSX as a serious competitor to the G35 (her leading choice). That was taken care of when the local Acura dealer told her the waiting list is over 3 months long for the TSX!
That looks a lot like the Accord Euro R that I test drove the other day. I don't think you guys get the R spec version in the US. That's a WHOLE different beast altogether......

Acura has stated that the suspension setup on the TSX is a good bit stiffer than the Euro-R. The TSX is a better car, performance-wise. It's just that the Euro-R may seem more sporting because of race trim like body kit and seats and a more high-strung engine, but several people who have gone overseas and driven both give the nod to the TSX.
Personally, I think Honda made a giant mistake with the TSX. They should have sold it here as a Honda, with one trim level (the Euro-R) and price it around $22K-$23K.
It really proves that Honda does not have the resources to develop a full range of cars...Waiting lists for the TSX? Geez...The day I would sign on to a wait list for a freakin' Accord, well...

Yeah really. What's the freakin holdup? Dealers all over the country have TSX's to spare ... the three month wait thing seems like a bizarre tactic with a two-fold purpose: to increase one's perception of the car's desirability/exclusivity (I mean, I'm sure people who hear this sign up and then tell officemates - yeah, I'm waiting for my Acura to come in ...) and secondly to ensure a sale at full MSRP + dealer bull.
Go for the G35.

What kind of b.s statement is that, "Honda doesn't have the resources to develop a full range of cars?"
It's very obvious you don't know much about Honda as a company.
I don't know much about Honda's waiting list but about 3000 tsx were sold last month and over 33K Honda Accords were sold last month. So I guess that's a mistake Honda can afford to make every year.

I guess it depends on what dealer you go to. While there is no waiting list at m local dealer, the TSX and TL are selling very well for them. Both cars are good but I probably would go for the TL as it is a much better car over all.

Half of Honda's lineup is all Accord:
TSX=Accord
Odyssey=Accord
TL=Accord
Pilot=Accord
MDX=Accord
Civic=Sedan, Si, RSX
CR-V=Element
What does that leave?
So the RL, Stook, and NSX are their own. So what? Honda platform *****s like no other. It's smart business, but that's it. If they had resources, why not bring over the Euro Accord and then design a different version for Acura? THAT's what I'm talking about.
People fail to realize that Honda is a small auto maker, and has thier hands in a lot of different cookie jars: all sorts of small engine, areospace, etc...
Its obvious to me you don't know much about Honda by make those types of statements. So what if 3000 TSXs were sold last month? If it was branded as a Honda, and came without leather, fancy stereo, etc and sold for $22K, maybe they would be selling 5000 a month. Think about it.

and highlander uses camry's paltform. and RX is based on highlander.
and those 3.3 V6 are used in camry, ES, RX, highlander, sienna, and someothers that i dont remember
i mean there's nothing wrong with sharing a platform
