it's been really useful for me on long drives down to DE
it's all about your goal and situation though. you got the system and it works well for your routes and that's great. but a lot of people are running into issues with fsd and a lot of videos of close calls and wrong decisions by the car. i am not sure if that's right. i have friends who got the fsd but only stick to just specific routes in their driving (and only the fwy part), they are happy with it but they also say they will not use it in certain parts of the route due to "uncertainties"
to me this is equivalent to the following scenarios, except tesla is charging major money now for it
- having an ABS system that sometimes doesn't kick in when necessary
- having an auto windshield wiper system that sometimes doesn't work

and one of the problems with that is tesla is RELYING on data and uncertainties to improve the system. so if people only use it where it works well for them, then it gives false confidence overall in the abilities of the system.

100% I can use FSD on most if my drives because my commute is mostly 2 lane 60 MPH state routes and a short stint on a 4 lane normal freeway. On the 2 lane no lane changes are needed most times so it handles 90% of the drive. On the 4 lane it handles lane changes and exits for me. I never use it on actual city streets and withdrew from the FSD beta consideration because my neighbor had some complaints of the beta in his S (and I kept getting dinged for aggressive turns in a roundabout)
Would I pay for it again if I were to buy a new Tesla? 40% yes but not at the point of purchase. I do wish they still offered EAP because that would cover 90% of my needs. I'm also a bit annoyed about being able to transfer it between cars given the cost but understand why they wouldn't offer that
You can add FSD for a monthly cost now too instead of forking over the $10k
I got in at 6k before prices started jumping more often, but would still like to see the license move if I got into a new Tesla even if there's a transfer fee.
