BMW Lemons in Australia
Saw this in MBWorld and thought my Lexus fellows would find this video informational too.

The BMW rep's blinking eyes and avoiding direct eye contact with the interviewer pretty much say it all.

Sad but nothing new (which is truly sad).
"one time, Johns 2002 7 died just 10 hours after leaving the dealer to be fixed previously".
"it's the car from hell, the worst piece of junk ever" (another dude)
sigh

and do you see how lame bmw is in making the guy's credit history look bad towards the end? this is completely lame. and that spokeman from bmw, he's just a total idiot.... all the problems are normal? gosh, in that case i am sure my lexus is sooooo abnormal.. i don't have a freaking problem on my car!

This was what one of the MBWorld.org members posted.
Shouldn't really bash an entire brand line of cars if your own car brand's quality is going down the drain.
POS cars bmws are.

This is sad.
I know you guys aren't interested in reading about Su. Ct. cases but just in case any one of you cares, there's a case dating back in 1990 called Gore v. BMW.
It's been a while since I read the case so my memory is vague. It has to do with BMW's selling partially repainted (I think BMW claimed that it's legitimate for them to re-paint cars that suffered less than 3% of damage during transportation and sell them as new) 7 series BMW as brand new cars.
The actual damage suffered by Dr. Gore was only a few thousand dollars. However, the Alabama jury awarded him punitive damages against BMW for several million dollars.
Su. Ct. ended up reversing the punitive damages because it thought that was unconscionable.
I wonder what would happen if someone files a suit against BMW again in 2004 and have this punitive damage issue taken up to the Su. Ct. again.

Yeap. You're correct.
But the percentage allowed for repainting a car was not the issue that the U.S. Su. Ct. considered in this case.
The Ct. actually ruled on the conscionability of the multi million dollar punitive damages against BMW.
Had BMW been the loser in Gore, it would probably have paid more attention in pleasing its customers ever since. Who knows?

BMW sucks ***. All I hear about is model after model, year after year breaking in very rudimentary aspects, and the utter lack of accomodation from the dealership to the corporate offices. What a bunch of ******, what a bunch of piles... and now they don't even look good anymore! I'll stick to a company that knows how to get it right time after time.
