Default solara

What do you all think of the new solara. I didn't like it at all. Saw 2 this week with 20 inch wheels on them and the cars looked much better. Started reminding me of a poor man's sc430 coupe. Maybe thats why lexus doesn't build a new sc300, they alredy have one.

I think the Solaras are hideous. The profile is cucumberesque - if there ever was a car that could be described that way.

EDIT: Scratch that ... it's a Saturn Ion mixed with the last-gen Tiburon from the side.

Default Solara-Ion-Tiburon

Then again, I tend to think everything's looking like a tiburon lately.

I don't think they bear much resemblance.

The look has grown on me. It is very stylish, good or bad, it cannot be confused for any other car (well besides the SC 430 from the rear). The interior is better than a bunch of more expensive cars, it really is impressive.
With the kit, drop it, bigger wheels, tint, it would look even better.

I like it alot but if you seen one sitting at the dealership the one thing you notice in real life is it sits SO HIGH UP its like a friggin SUV. You could lay on your side and roll under it!

the solara is ugly on picture but much better in person. It needs bigger wheels tho, the car looks fat.

And there's no way that the Solara is the reason why new SC300 is not out yet. People who are in the market for cars such as 330ci, CLK, and G35 coupes are not interested in a FF sports coupe from Toyota. They want a SC430 with a V6 and hard top.

The only slight similarity with the SC430 is the taillights
but they're like twice as big on the Solara.

I think toyota is trying too hard to become more stylish
and get away from the bland designs from recent years.
The result is this overly "wavy" sheetmetal that will get
old really fast.

Bingo. Couldn't have said it better myself.

I had that thought like a month ago when I stared at the rear of the Solara.
