You can go about it a backdoor way or through someone you know.

sounds simple but this is a very tedious, and time consuming process, The car actually arrivied here in the states about 1 year ago(time of purshase), and I just took delievery of it over the weekend!. I still am waiting on my actual plates, but am legal with a temp tag, for now.
If you get the car cirtified in a year or less your considered lucky.
but i just glad she's finally in the garage!
thanks for the great replies,
Paul

I don't want to be rude, but can you please tell us, how much such a car is worth? (even a ballpark)

Well done paul, for sticking out & going through all that hassle!!
There are many people who would be interested in the actual process of conforming etc.
If you have the time, how about doing some documentation/stage by stage, so the members can get an idea of the hassle's you had to endure? eg. cost of car/cost of work carried out/paper work etc etc.
THAT WOULD BE BRILL....
Just a quick question, do you know from your contacts wether they can conform any other cars besides nissans?
Thanx baz.

thanks for all the great replies guys!!!
real quick.....i'll come back and answer all other Q's later...
but as far as bringing in other cars......it's not a problem...anyone can do....it's getting a plate on the car, thats a problem...
if you want to register it and drive it on the streets......someone needs to do independent crash tests, to get the data b/c the manufactures won't release it. And DOT doesn't recognize that a RHD car crashes the same as a LHD cars.....Like 240sx's....lots of guys are buying these RHD 240's for drifting and what not but cant put a plate on them...(you might be able to swop vin's or something) but legaly no way.
so thats why no one else has any other car on the streets like older EVO's and what not.....
but the company that i went too actually spent big bucks and did independent crash tests with 32's,33's and 34's to be able to register the cars
hope that helps..
gotta run..
