My guess is his speed was at least 90kph (~60mph).

Since it appears to have been a heavy side impact, initially, the sensors were not triggered.

I can't imagine the accident occuring at anything less than 80-90 mph.

I was involved in a collision going 70 and my car looking NOTHING like that.

OH MY GOSH! That is disturbing. They must have been going VERY VERY VERY fast to have had that happen.

On a side note: Does anyone else find it sooo annoying to browse those threads with a tree view?

I would be curious if this is indeed real - It does seem real, but
1. The drivers side airbag did not deploy - I realize size impact collisions don't always fire the airbag, but side impact collisions of that nature would seem to.
2. The car body pieces seem relatively free of scratches - There are dents up the ying yang but no scratches.
3. The motor in the picture looks old. I'm not an Audi specialist, but I would be curious if that IS an Audi motor.

Like I said, probably real, but who knows these days!

hard to tell what kind of audi that is. it was debadged. BUT that engine does look akward. its to large for the 1.4t, but it has a turbo. Im going to say that its the newer audis with the 2.7t. Im going to go with 100+mph to split a car in half.

Disturbing.
My guess was that it slid sideways into the tree...when it sheared apart, it started tumbling.
