"Saving Money on Your Car"
Read this well-thought and informative article. It goes through a few "common sense" tips and advice some of us sometimes forget like remembering your oil change intervals and keeping your tires properly inflated. There are other related articles weblinked to this one, so check it out

I agree with most of this, but I wouldn't get too carried away with public transpoortation.....you need to drive your car enough to keep the battery charged and engine, transmission, and differential fluids warmed and circulating. Engines that sit too long sometimes get corrosion on the cylinder walls and metal-to-metal contact starting up because there is no thin oil film on those cylinder walls anymore.
And don't get too carried away with synthetic oil change intervals, either. No, synthetic oil doesn't suffer viscosity breakdown over time like petroleum oil, but the additive packages in it do wear out and need to be replaced.
