Two things
1. I think these cars look a lot alike
2. I LOVE the look of the new Maxima as well as the new GS. Fortunately, IMHO, they copied one of the best looking sedans out there.

Red face Sorry guys...

1) I'm soooooo tired of the comparisons. Probably because 2) I just don't see the so-called similarities. The Maxima is one BUTT-UGLY car. The GS in every way looks better. I mean those lights on the Maxima are horrid. That grill - OH - MY - GAWD. Sorry, but yes the cars have tires, and lights and doors, but based on the level of comparisons that you're trying to do here, we could put 10 cars next to each other and claim they look alike. I see design trends across many of todays cars. But the GS is way above and beyond the Altima. I think the Altima absolutely went awry. It is one ugly car. How dare it be compared to the GS. That's just plain old haterade guys. It's one thing to not like the GS, but to compare it to the Maxima is just wrong.

the door lines on the maxima are cut like the old altima's and every other car from that early 90's eara, whereas the GS has a sleek doorline that is smooth and sexy. very updated.

The front end of the GS just waxes that maxima. the maxima is fugly from the front IMO.

The rear of the lexus flows better off the tail and remains smooth all the way to the tip whereas the maxima looks like it had a collision in the rear the day it rolled off the line.

ALL of the lexus lights are molded into the body and flow well, the maxima looks like someone put them on with a cookie cutter.

Overall the lexus was well sculpted and everything flows in transition as expected from the GS, and the maxima looks like a lot of parts assembled to form a car, rather than a complete design.

I wonder where the objective comments are? Some of you guys sound as if you are insulted that the cars look alike, others of you sound like you are in denial saying that these cars look nothing alike, and some of you guys are just plain hating. If these two cars looked nothing alike, this thread and countless others wouldn't exist. So can we at least say that they look similar. Okay, great. Now those that are insulted that Nissan would make not one but two cars that resemble the lines of the 2nd gen GS, I would just say chill out, take it as a compliment. I mean for God's sake, the Maxima and the GS are in two genres of cars. Your rivals are Bimmers and Benzes, our rivals are Accords and Camry's. That's like getting mad because your lil brother is wearing the same sneakers you are. And for those that are saying the Maxima (6th gen) is a horrible looking car, I would say. . .perhaps. But of course I realize that looks are subjective. For example I don't think Porsche is that great a looking car, but I respect it and those that do like it. But the bashing, come on, that's a bit immature, don't you think?

This guy is from Decatur, GA (I've actualy seen it and thought I was seeing things). Seems we won't have to worry much about looking like the Max with mods like this. Please get the AGM police.:chase: :chase: :chase:

My, oh my, poor Maxima. . .

I just hope the same guy doesn't buy a Lexus and paint it in the same scheme. . .

I really don't like either car. Although GS has cooler design, it just looks way too Japanese for me. Not that it is a bad thing, just not my taste.
