It always comes down to the inevitable unanswered question, "Why does he need all that stuff in the car?"

At any rate, that's one of the most impressive installs I've seen in a TL. The guy better maximize the security of his car now that it's posted up in the forum for all to see

Do I see and S-AFC? He better not even THINK about performance with all that extra weight in there. Honestly thats gotta be a few hundred pounds worth of stuff, not considering the incredible load thats gonna be put on the battery/alternator.

That list isnt really so much overkill, its what goes into any full stereo install, its just that nobody ever itemises their install like that. It is probably exactly what is written on the invoice from the installer. And they are probably elabotating so they get more money from him.

Basically he has a full multimedia system (3 screens, TV, DVD, navigation, and processors etc, plus a PS2), 1 amp, 7 speakers, Car PC, and a security system. A very nice install, but not so 'over the top' as i was expecting. Apart from the Rear Monitor for the PC, it has everything i would do to my car if i had the money. But i would do it myself - not pay someone to do it.

So far i have TV, DVD, Navigation (showing japanese maps - d'oh!), 7 speakers (6 are stock ), 1 amp, removable PC (my laptop), alarm. Only missing the rear screens and PS2 (although i dont have half the brand list he has!!)

You are right Dominik, the list is just EVERYTHING that was used, not just the MAIN components like normal people would do LOL...

I am also with you on doing it myself... I don't like other people to touch my car LOL...

Now that I think about it, the entire install is setup real nicely and professionally. I've already mentioned in my first post that I was impressed with the install pictures. I also mentioned the "overkill" part simply because I'm not as well exposed to car audio and electronics world as others. Don't take this the wrong way, I have no intention of knocking the guy's TL and his goodies. It just seems a little "too much", but not in a negative sense

Anyways, back to the thread...

Cool to be honest

no braggin but i have most of those things in my car, minus the computer in the trunk, and just had the install different, imho i wish i would have went with the supercharger setup instead, its just too much for a car. 2 10w7's in the back deck are too much, the back glass will prob break one day

I'm in awe of what some owners go to install an entertainment system, it is a nice install.
