I use GoJo and until the last 5 years I never saw ANYONE work on a car with gloves. Its only in the past 5 years that I see these sissies on UTube wearing gloves! My first overhaul was a 1929 Model A Ford. Did it in a week end with only an adjustable wrench, a socket set, and a hammer and screwdriver. I quit smoking before the medical profession decided it was bad for you. I just didnt like paying 2 cents apiece for them and I had a pack a day habit (a gallon of gas a day) but I quit cold turkey...yeah, that was a long time ago.....At todays prices, I dont see how anyone can afford to smoke....even the beggars on the street corner are smoking!!

Personally, I just don't want to have to clean all that **** off my hands, I'd rather just take the gloves off and throw them away and be done with it.
Yep, it's really just less work overall and you don't wear your hands out whatsoever. No one who works trades believes I'm a mechanic at first lol!

Smoking gloves? Well... I suppose gloves would prevent nicotine stained fingers.

Strange question. Dirt and grease aside scratch and abrasion protection is kinda valuable. BTW don't use latex gloves the natural rubber over time can cause an allergic response which will be permanent. There are also other health risks.

Eh, they work better so I use them. I'm unusually undereactive to stuff though, I pull poison ivy and oak bare handed with no effects.

I didn't even realize what it was until I got married and the wife freaked out seeing what I was pulling up!

It just shows what a difficult habit it is to overcome.

This is ridiculous lol, I'm a sissy because I don't want to get nasty **** all over my hands and have to scrub them clean? Okay. I bet you walked uphill in the snow both ways with no shoes too

My cars don’t really need any wrenching, so to speak, but if they did, I’d likely wear gloves.

Otherwise, I do use them for detailing, mostly to keep my fingerprints and oils from my hands to hit the surface that I’m trying to protect/clean.

I use them for cooking too. I fully admit that the feeling of raw meat on my skin grosses me out. When we’re out camping, my wife gives me such grief! “You’ll stick your hand into the fire to move a log and risk getting burned, but you won’t touch raw chicken!”

I also use them in our RV for hooking up and draining the sewer connections but I assume you all understand why…. 😁
