Can Honda be fixed or are they cooked?
I don’t know if everyone sees the same related topics but the one I see proves history does repeat itself.

Show me the data, I just asked Copilot, and here's what it told me:
- Acura has been consistently above average for 20 years.
- The brand peaked in the late 2000s, dipped slightly in the mid‑2010s, and has stabilized in the upper‑middle tier.
- This aligns with:
- Consumer Reports ranking Acura 5th overall in reliability (2025)
- RepairPal ranking Acura 2nd out of 32 brands
- Low repair frequency and low severity compared to the industry
- Consumer Reports ranking Acura 5th overall in reliability (2025)
It’s common knowledge reliability fell off a cliff. From the 1.5 engine disaster to mdx/tlx transfer cases blowing to sunroofs that explode etc etc and everything in between. Honda has fared a bit better but Acura has struggled for years. I went back to 2017 and Acura has one year above average.
Where's Toyota/Lexus' answer to this: HondaJet - The World's Most Advanced Light Jet?
We are not comparing Honda to Toyota. Otherwise it wouldn’t be a fair fight as Toyota is much larger, printing money and not claiming losses.
So again what ideas do you have to fix Honda?

Whole post is just cope.
EDIT: let me clarify, the reason the M5 doesn't hold value as well as the GSF seems to is because there is always a new version that is faster etc.
The Lexus you get ONE and that's it because the brand doesn't care about performance at all. Even then if you compare the GSF to an E39 M5 manual there is no contest of pricing if your argument is value retention.
People always defend worse cars by bringing up value, MPG, and reliability when the car can't stand on its own merits. Yet what cars do people love to drive more?

I wish Honda would bring out something out of the left field. If Toyota can make a GR Corolla, Honda can certainly make a AWD CTR. Just something, anything that gets enthusiasts talking about Honda again.
Honda has to step out of their comfort zone. They have 4 main vehicles and everything else are derivatives of those vehicles. Civic, Accord, CRV and Pilot and almost every other model they sell are variations of those 3. Go rebadge a cool Isuzu or Suzuki bof suv from overseas and bring it here. Heck rebadge an overseas pickup truck. There are so many cool funky unobtaniums that we dont get here in the US. If Toyota does bring the FJ back, they will corner the bof suv market.
Any carmaker that sells in the same segments has to be compared against each other. If you only compare size, then VW is the nearest competitor and they honestly dont really compete in the US.

The Sienna made alot of lead engineers rethink what the modern family wants in their family do it all vehicle.
Hybridization, battery scaling, and cuvs galore are what will help usher in a new age. The other elephant in the room, is actually quite funny. They dont know how to scale upto large bof platforms.
Nissan does, toyota does, kiyundai does, but Honda doesnt. They are the best in the business in midsize cuvs and below class vehicles. That needs to change.

This topic is about Hondas issues and how to fix them. This topic isn’t to compare Toyota vs Honda which is also what @bitkahuna stated. If you or anyone else wants to start a thread on that topic, be my guest.
no one said they can't. they can (obviously, look at nsx and s2k), however just being able to is only small part of the equation. the whole execution has to done right in order for it to be successful AND profitable. and that's the main thing that honda has failed imho
The new Honda Passport Trailsport Elite is getting good predicted reliability and reviews. Naturally aspirated V6. And it looks great and is very appealing to me. Someday I may replace our 22 RX 350, and this might be a contender. I wish they made an Acura version.
