The hemi plant was still operating making engines for the Durango, so it probably didn't involve much cost to increase production.
I imagine Toyota has already divested of all their tooling for the 3UR.

Over the Tundra, *** yes
I've driven nothing but Toyota and I wouldn't touch Toyotas turbo V6s with a 50 foot pole.

no way. UR engines are ancient. Toyota could do so much better and bring out a new modern V8. But no….super cheap Toyota won’t do it.

What is ancient about them? What technical deficits does that architecture have? I'm very curious

This thread for some insane reason reminded me of an add that I saw like one time when I was 8 years old. Just spent a few minutes finding it

Yea that's the best option. The next gen version of the V35 twin turbo should be a lot more reliable than the current disaster.
It would be great if they brought back the 3UR but that's not going to happen. I think Frank is correct that the tooling is probably gone.
Ram may be the best option at the moment although that 7.3L in the F 250/350 looks badazz.

I'm happy if I can have some fake ruggedness too but not a deal killer. Haha

A 5.0 ford F150 if you replace the 10R80 valve body day one is also a great option, out of the box factory supercharger as well.
