Dodge Ram and Truck Talk
The bottom one is a different trailer that I borrowed. The top is the one i bought after having to borrow the metal deck one 2x. I have a rule. If I have to rent or borrow a tool or piece of equipment more than 2x a year, I buy it.
Wish I could buy a U-Haul transport trailer!! So light and easy to load!!
Plus a lot of tracks we go to there’s no E85 stations around so I have to take plenty.
My friend brings a 32 gallon jug of 93.
I’ve learned the hard way don’t let it get under half tank on track. Imagine your lap timer is showing green and car falls on its face coming out of corner and your car is showing between 1/4 and 1/2 tank of fuel

If I get below 1/8th and I get into a long sweeper at near max grip (.9-1.1ish if the tires are not too hot yet) then I may get a brief stumble when I change to the opposite direction. But that's me knowing that the car is near empty and the top two pumps aren't getting anything but air.
It's really odd to me that a performance car like the R didn't come with a triple pump/pickup system and/or baffles when they KNOW it's going to be pushed hard laterally.
The lack of oil pan baffling is just a straight up sin IMO.
I have never had that issue in any of my cars even down to 1/8th no matter how long or hard I am sending it.

Turns out the 4.0 doesn't have a baffle stack but does have a windage tray, the W12s were dry sump engines originally so they have a crazy crankcase setup with the wet sump versions having baffles by default.
I guess it's fine since the edges of the pan are not able to allow the oil to climb too high? The effective length of the oil surface would be limited to the center area and that would have to still make it past the windage tray....
Strange they didn't include them with the EA824 when the prior 4.2 did have them IMO.
My RAM TRUCK definitely has a baffled oil pan with windage tray though, I added it as part of the engine build.
Wonder if my R129 has any of that---- I doubt it.
It does have an oil temp gauge which is useful for a track, but the car isn't a track car. It would be fun to drive it around one though, not a race but a spirited drive. I mean it was MBs top car at one time. I'm sure it would do well enough.
