Yep. He was happy with the new Model Y - especially stability at autobahn speeds and NVH.

Quote: Don’t see the appeal of the Model Y performance, range is no better and normal AWD model Y is already tested to do 0-60 in 3.9s.

With the price of the performance, you could buy a iX3 which likely to have better driving dynamics and road feel as prototype testers have been saying.
Its not just speed, it will have bigger brakes/wheels, better seats and sportier suspension.

It will be significantly cheaper than M50 version of new iX3.

There are ppl that just want a Tesla bec of tech, FSD, charging etc.
Then there are ppl that don’t want anything to do with Tesla lol

I just think its not going to be easy to get those Tesla owners to jump ship to iX3 bec it’s not offering anything so compelling yet it costs a significant premium.

After seeing some additional walk around videos I've warmed up to the exterior and like it. Not sure about the interior though.

There are people that can't wait to dump their BMW before it completely drains their wallets. Insanely expensive vehicle to own and maintain, and don't worry BMW will nickel and dime you with their EVs too.

the only good thing about bmw’s to me is they have cheap leases quite often.

The BMW that thinks it's a Tesla. The current BMW range doesn't really cut it if you actually use the car, especially for the $$. Remember, you don't charge to 100% nor do you run it down to zero.

You don't need a ton of range for typical daily use, but when you do hit the road, the Neue Klasse hits the sweet spot. That's my experience.

The Neue Klasse integrates control of the drive system and control of driving dynamics into one single unit, appropriately named the BMW Heart of Joy.
The BMW that thinks it's a Tesla.

that’s their business model, make it as easy as possible to get those who buy new cars into a new BMW every three years and use the lease returns to provide a steady stream of CPO for those who buy used. Rinse and repeat, selling the same car multiple times.

with that said. It’s not the only reason people buy BMW. Across the German big three plus Lexus, and looking at the 3/5/7 core cars and fhe MB, Audi and Lexus equivalent, the BMW has almost invariably been the best drivers car.

Not really. Teslas are not meant to be a drivers car, in fact they rather you buy FSD and it drives itself, last thing they want to do is to make the car feel connected to the road and too fun to drive.

Having a single “brain” for various sensors and systems is where all cars are going - BMW is just trying to market it more than others.

Why would a BMW EV nickel and dime you if EVs are pretty much maintenance free minus windshield washer fluid? 🧐

I think someone was just feeling cranky. The BMW will be fine, Tesla will be fine. New entrees like this iX3 are a good thing.

They have not had cheap leases on their gas powered cars since Covid unfortunately. The Mperformance models with inline 6 are also harder to get allocations for.

You can get great deals on i4 and iX though.

Spoken like a person that never owned or have ever maintained a BMW 😀

The horror stories you hear are from ppl that buy a clapped out 3 series with 5 owners and no service history. Stick with the BMWs that have inline 6 (especially N52, N55, B58) and you will have no issues.

I won't work on them. I bought a Toyota from a guy that owned an X5, no one could repair the thing he resorted to trailering it to a known BMW expert he couldn't fix it either.

I'm not sure you are very familiar Teslas. They are great driver's cars. There is no car that can compete with the M3P anywhere near the price.

Tesla was the first to engineer and build a centralized computer tech vehicle and is far ahead of the pack. This is one reason the Neue Klasse is the BMW that thinks it's a Tesla. There is so much more.

I was thinking the same thing. People who don't have Tesla's certainly have a lot to say about them. I'm thinking maybe they should actually go out and drive one. Easiest car to book driving tests for
