Pentastars leak oil from oil cooler. Still waiting on that oe fix.

It'll be fun to see what happens. I agree, they spent TONS of money developing an engine that many customers don't want.

I can't imagine a Challenger without a Hemi. I'm not into muscle cars but they look the best out of them.

It's like the Grand Wagoneer, they ripped out the 6.4L V8 with I believe 483 horsepower. 0-60 in 5.3 seconds. Okay, the problem there was?????? Hurricanes as we have pointed out aren't any better at the pump (enough worth noting, at least). I'll sacrifice a little speed for a ridiculous, violent V8 like that.

Problem was it wasn't a 6.2 hemi instead IMO!

Ah. Still though, nearly 500hp and 6.4 liters? That's quite enough to satisfy me were I a GW customer.

I wasn't aware the Hellcats were 6.2L!

Yep! 6.2 displacement works well for rod ratio and wrist pin location so they went with that

Yep, bore of the 6.4L combined with the stroke of the 5.7L nets 6.2L.....Plus another 2.4L from the supercharger on top.

Technically just under 5.0 on top as it operates at 11-12psi

Just like engines, superchargers are sized according to their actual volume without regard to compression ratio. The Hellcat's is 2380 cc, making it 2.4L.

Is ir coreect to add the diaplacement of the super charger?

It makes sense though. 🏆

Superchargers are awesome. If we didn't have all these regs, there would be tons of supercharged V8s around.

Directly, no. The engine is not considered 8.6L. It's 6.2L plus a 2.4L positive-displacement supercharger.

I did screw up when I wrote that since I was walking around a store and didn't math correctly at all.....

I should have said it's under 2.4 added since the pressure ratio is below 14.7 added psi putting it somewhere around 2.0 for an effectively 8.0ish size engine. That's leaving out the fact average power is nicely increased past a pure displacement bump with a super.
