Ford Escape will continue production through 2026.
Somewhat surprising....given the enormous demand for the Bronco Sport, which is done on the same platform, and the fact that the Bronco Sport has taken a large number of sales from the Escape, I figured Ford might pull the plug on Escape production this year, but it is going to live at least one more year. The fact that the Bronco Sport is Mexican-built and that Escapes are built in Louisville, KY apparantly means that Escape-production does not impair on that of the Bronco Sport, which is in much higher demand. Also, although the article does not mention this, Escapes will not be affected by tariffs, whereas that issue is TBD for the Bronco Sport.
Apparantly no definite word yet on the future of the Lincoln Corsair....a vehicle I think highly of despite its spotty reliability. It is built in the same plant as the Escape, on the same platform. It may or may not shut down with Escape production.
Nobody liked or hated the Escape enough to post? Lolol
With the general public, I don't think it's so much a dislike for the Escape as it is the enormous success of the Bronco Sport done on the same platform.....which has taken a big chunk out of Escape sales. Despite its cheap interior materials, I personally like the Bronco Sport (it has a lot of the personality generally missing from vehicles nowadays), and, if its reliability and quality-control in the plant were a little better, it would be on my consideration list
i rented an escape last year. while it was 'ok' to drive, the interior was HORRIBLE junk. it's like the bean counters forbid designers from using any creativity, any half decent materials, and to reduce part count to a minimum. just baaad.
