Lol it was. I can’t go into gas prices under Joe Biden. All I can say is we are under leadership that doesn’t hate fossil fuels and is pro oil. That’s good for oil prices.
Difference is, this won’t last nearly as long. Wait and see. I’ll be back to tell you I told you so.
So does that all mean one can get a good deal on a TRX or other hemi?

LOL Hell no! We don’t give a **** about gas mileage.
People want V8s back including the monster ones. And they’re even surprising me, I had no idea they were gonna give the Yukon the supercharged V8. I drive one, I would know about upgrades like that coming to them lol.

Per the other thread, GM unfortunately confirmed that the GM Authority report was false. They are not putting the LT4 in more things.
When it was suggested that inflation was temporary and high gas prices before were temporary the people saying this is temporary now would hear none of it. Flawed leadership it was!
Inflation is never temporary, there is always inflation, but there was a shock when everything doubled in a matter of months during the pandemic. The administration back then said the inflation was "transitory", implying that it was reversible and prices would come down once things are back to "normal", but of course prices never came down. Inflation continued, perhaps at a lower rate vs 2020-2022, but now there has been another round of heavy inflation due tariffs and another round is coming due to the "one day special combat operation", lol.
Gas prices in particular often fluctuate independent of the general inflation, but as I was saying in my previous post, we've already seen $5 gas twenty years ago in 2006-2007, which is $15 in todays money. I won't be surprised if we see $10 gas soon.

Damn. GM itself confirmed it?
Well, still.... 6.6 liters of V8 isn't anything to scoff at. I think they may go back to giving the Escalade a slight edge in power, then the Denali, then down to the regular Yukon like they did for the 800. Base V8 power will be more adequate than it is now, not so far behind competition. Even though the weaker 5.3 engine vs. competition doesn't seem to matter sales wise. I think for most GM truck buyers they just want a V8 and the 5.3 is more than adequate despite the competition's better offerings.
If my memory serves me right, premium gas was near $5 here in NYC from 2006 well till maybe 2014. I've only always owned cars/bikes that take premium, and I had a couple of diesels, so I always paid more. There were times when diesel was over $5 even.

I meant the part about $5 in 2006 equaling $15 today.
The price is in dollars, so $5 in 2006 equates to ~$8.50 today.
Fine, but the official inflation rate is not always set in observable reality. Either way, there is a lot of potential for oil prices to go up, which will affect the price of gas and most everything else.

Agreed on all points. Prices don’t come back down from inflation unless you have deflation, which would only happen in some kind of financial collapse.
Point is for many people inflation then was “horrible” and now it’s “no big deal” which is hilarious.
$3.99 for regular right outside the Magic Kingdom at the Car Care Center on World Dr on Disney property. I thought that was a deal given its location.
