Yeah except the Audis don't need attention vs the Lexus cars often needed wheels re-torqued (LS430) or low on oil (LS 430 and sequoia and the LS460 prior to leak repair on that one) or other stupid annoyances.

I still check everything though since that's what the manual says to do and as a result I have never had compounding problems. I also use parking brakes as prescribed lol!

(Gear awareness/maintenance that I practice is from my other hobbies tbh)

It will tell you when you are exactly one quart low, well before there is any risk of damage. You would have to be down around a gallon for a traditional "low oil" light to come on, because it is driven by the oil pressure sensor.

the car has power THIRD ROW SEATS (fwd/back and recline) and have heating!

and so much more... doug is seriously impressed.

I read it. You said "may not" be a deal-breaker; which means it also "may" be a deal-breaker. But you must not have read what I wrote, which was that they would not lose a sale; which means it would definitively NOT be a deal-breaker.

You are your own perfect example--you bought a car with a different style gearshift, complained it was not what you are used to, you lived with it, got used to it, and learned it was no big deal.

I experienced it at NYC auto show on Friday. That grill is ridiculous, side and rear looks fine like a Range Rover, and the interior is top notch. I didn't like the interior design in pictures but it works in person. It definitely delivers a premium experience on the inside.

Didn't get to dig into features as the family and kids were running off to the next thing as usual but I did get to take a quick wide angle video of the interior.

What I did see though was a rear sunroof that at minimum tilts open (I think? There were more than a couple sunroof buttons up there), you can fold and unfold the 2nd and 3rd row rear seats with 1 button, and the driver's seat has leg extensions like the EV's for full recline.

looks like Hyundai copied Range Rover

Jill’s brother enters the chat. LOVES his Palisade, but claims that the vehicle is not as well build as their Toyota. And fuel economy doesn’t live up to expectations. But the ancient 3.8 V6 is nice to have.

Jill’s sister enters the chat. LOVES her Telluride. Same thing with the ancient 3.8 V6…superb love ❤️

Lacrosse had that dumb start stop that one couldn’t turn off Just a bad design. But at least it has a nice big smooth and slick six cylinder

I’ve been using them on every vehicle.

Can’t use them at track though

Bayeaux cousin enters chat. Had no issues with her 100k mile Palisade. Traded for a new one before potential tariffs.

Most people who own Kia and Hyundai products are quite satisfied with them. That is why the negative press in the media is overblown.

That was a quirk with many GM products before about 2020 or so....not just the Lacrosse. I wasn't wild about it, but I found some ways to defeat, lessen its effect, and/or get around it by some gentle footwork on the brake and gas pedals.

The press is very positive for KIA and Hyundai.

I think it looks great, they will sell a ton. Interested to see the next gen Telluride.

Compare this to a Grand Highlander, this will be cheaper and feel $20k more expensive.

Not really. The automotive press is generally favorable, but the mainstream media tends to dwell (and, IMO, over-dwell) on the engine and theft/break-in problems....just like your own endless posts on the recalls.

Part of the trouble is that Hyundai and Kia dealerships themselves appear to be inconsistent....some are excellent, and others border on terrible. My brother, for example, has had excellent luck with Kias purchased from a specific local dealership and their service......and bitkahuna, in Florida, seems quite satisfied with his Hyundai and Genesis experience there. But the stories at some other dealerships, at least according to the Kia forums my brother follows, have been just awful.

Like I try and order parts and repeatedly get left on hold for over 30 min, they don't actually remember to order, have a severe attitude the whole time, and don't deliver to shops so I have to go there myself.

I absolutely hate dealing with them and try my hardest to have customers be okay with me ordering parts online for lower costs. Sometimes they need it fast though and I'm forced to go over there

Thats a dealership issue, not an issue specific to Hyundai/Kia.

They are selling so many vehicles now in the U.S. that it is difficult for some dealerships to keep up with the service and parts-load. That's why my brother has been fortunate to have as good a Kia dealership as he does. It is owned by the Congressman who represents his district....who, of course, as a politician, lawyer and politician, also has a buisness-image to keep up.
