General Car Conversation 2025 - Part 1
I’d take an LS 500 over both of them. I like physical controls in my cars and the Model S interior is a disaster.
By every logical measurement, from practicality, tech, performance and efficiency the Model S is a better car. My opinion of course

$2,200 for brakes vs $700 on the LS lol. OEM parts in a Mercedes box!

I’m in Orlando and we have a new Carnival rental. Rides nice, comfortable. GREAT lane centering, better than the Mercedes and it will lane center even without the radar cruise on if you want. Not as solid or premium feeling as the hybrid Pacifica, also the cargo area with the seats down is all lumpy and annoying. Drives better than a gas Pacifica though. Great V6…
Those are OE parts then, you don't know the definition of OEM parts it seems. OEM is the same maker/factory as the OE parts minus the dealership/brand box.
Lexus doesn't have that option for a lot of parts

Just look at the inside of an LC vs that or the current 7 series or S class and you will see what a high end interior is supposed to look like. The Model S is generic and forgettable
To make it a fair comparison use a base s class or a large brake LS, the prices are higher with the LS as you don't know who makes them. For Mercedes we know who makes the brakes and can order from the factory label instead of dealer box.
If I bought Audi boxed brakes I would have spent $3300 on parts, I paid $1200 for exact same with same QR codes stamped on the parts. Can't do that with Lexus
Thats not a good interior....utterly forgettable and generic with no exotic materials or forms.

It's not a luxury vehicle, I wouldn't compare it to one. I was comparing it to the driving experience of the LC, which its better than. Performance wise, as well as practicality none of those car you mentioned comes close. It's definitely not S class or 7 series comfortable, but it's also half the cost of those cars who are in a different demographic. I'm not a luxury car buyer, so S Class and 7 series would never be on my list. Comparing it to the LC, it's a way better driving experience, and I stand by that 1000 percent
I didn't, I only stated in an earlier post that if I had to chose one or the other, it would be the Model S. The LC is a car I would own because it's more for enthusiasts than luxury owners. Luxury owners for example wouldn't want a loud V8 that revs to 7000 rpm. Bitkahuna is a perfect example...he bought the LC because of its sporty nature. I don't think he would buy an S Class of 7 series
In other words, I would pick the Model S because of it's better performance and practicality over the LC, nothing to do with luxury

At least they added ventilated seats with the refresh though so at least it’s more comfortable. But they took away so much functionality with the controls. And minimalism just doesn’t do it for me.
