General Car Conversation 2025 - Part 1
That interior looks horrible to me. Give me wood! Give me a real steering wheel! Give me turn signal and wiper stalks! Give me a real gearshift ****! Give me real gauges! There’s not even any seat back pockets on the backs of the front seats.
At least they added ventilated seats with the refresh though so at least it’s more comfortable. But they took away so much functionality with the controls. And minimalism just doesn’t do it for me.

Actually as an owner of two Tesla's, zero functionality was taken away, the screen is extremely intuitive and easy to use. But I get it, not for everyone
Don't get me wrong from my last posts, I love this car (the LC500). If I could afford both, I'd buy both
Longer legs w/ shorter torso would prob have overhead clearance whereas shorter legs longer torso wouldn't.
Not sure how far back the seat goes or how low the seat goes to accommodate either body type.
I guess it would depend on having a convertible or coupe as well...
When they do that to techs, they just find ways to shortcut and cheat a little.
I remember the old Trans Ams?
It had a rear plug that required dropping the exhaust.
Techs just ignored that plug on tune ups. Haha
Another good one is on the old cadillacs with fwd and they would blow head gaskets like crazy.
I knew a tech who did many of them and he made a special lift plate to raise the head 1/2" and level without removing hardly anything else on the engine.
He would pull the old head gasket out and slip the new one in and torque it down.

My buddy ended up leaving that life because he had his side hustle and his client list was growing. He’s worked for celebrities and professional athletes (mostly hockey players). The guy in the bay next to him because an underwater welder working on oil rigs, refinery equipment, and ships. It’s very dangerous work. Between the hazard pay and being a longshoreman, that guy made bank. He’s probably retired now.
These techs didn’t do that because when a car was assigned to their bay, they were attached to the service tech who performed the service. This means, if there is a problem with the service performed and the car comes back, that tech has to fix it so that ends up being uncompensated labor time. It wasn’t worth the risk to them.
Back in the day there was so much work, a tech could bounce around from repair shop to repair shop and not stay anywhere long.
Thats not a good interior....utterly forgettable and generic with no exotic materials or forms.
Just look at the inside of an LC vs that or the current 7 series or S class and you will see what a high end interior is supposed to look like. The Model S is generic and forgettable

LC > Model S all day, not even close
I actually don’t like the Model S steering wheel

How tall are you? I know an LC owner that's 6' 3" -- but I suppose it depends on the length of your legs or torso.
Longer legs w/ shorter torso would prob have overhead clearance whereas shorter legs longer torso wouldn't.

I just couldn’t get a comfortable seat position no matter how much I fiddled with the adjustments.(Of course, the first thing I do when I get in a car is I put the seat as low as it can possibly go.)
Im 6’5”. It doesn’t have enough headroom. I sat in the coupe. With the seat in my position the driver seat was touching the back seat! And the seat refused to recline because it could sense that it was touching the back seat bottom. lol Why does this thing have a back seat again?!

I on the other hand, am the TOTAL opposite. Especially with sport cars and trucks from back in the day.
My FIL had a TR3 and my bro has a TR-6 and the seats wouldn't scoot far enough forward for me to reach the pedals and even if I could reach the pedals from as far forward the seat was, I couldn't see clearly over the dash. This was the same with the older trucks

Clearly, I wasn't tall enough

Nowadays, they make cars that scoot forward and lift enough to accommodate me and the rest of the vertically challenged population

Wow...6'.5", you're probably an SUV guy. I'm not even close to being that tall and I have to put the seat all the way down to not bump my head getting in and out. My wife is like 5' 2 and if I forget to put lower the seat after she's driven I end up banging my head getting in and out
The GS actually has way more legroom than the RX did. Headroom feels about the same though.
@FrankReynoldsCPA @patgilm Looks like sending the ECU across the pond has been put on hold for now. Finally got the JB4 running after they sent me a new motherboard. The new one looks totally different from the original one they initially sent. Going for a drive here shortly. I will switch it over to map 2 since I run 93.
A custom tune on Map 6 is in the plans. Maybe with a little splash of 🌽⛽️ 😏

I’d take an LS 500 over both of them.
