I can lie to myself that when it comes out it will be with a TTV10 version of the LFA mill not a half assed TTV8 that is down 200hp vs the competition.
The LC-F would not have been competitive in its segment. Overweight and underpowered relative to its peers.
Most new cars are heavy pigs like new M5, SL63, AMG GT63, M4 etc.
The LC- F was a V8 TT rumored to have over 600hp - it was also in late stages of development before being killed off, huge mistake by Lexus. Sure it would not have sold well but it would have provided further legitimacy to the F brand which now consists of only the RCF that came out 10 Years ago 😂
Toyota management are more focused on GR sub-brand than Lexus.
Very bizarre how there's so many spyshots of this vehicle for years now even though there's no clear details besides speculation on when or how it comes out, yet it's still clearly in the early prototype stage. Meanwhile we've seen zero spyshots on far more important vehicles to Lexus like the new ES or their 3-row EV crossover which should be coming out next year.
Yeah but that's Lexus, I don't even expect them to truly compete lol!
I don't think you will find many people who think the LFA doesn't compete. They are steadily going up in value too.

Its because Lexus wants this to be teased and they don't want the new ES etc to be seen.

That's not how it works, prototypes undergo road testing and make their public appearance at least 1-2 years before they come out. We saw the last-gen ES prototype two years before it was released.

You don't think a car manufacturer puts certain cars out there on the road in such a way that they want people to see them and take pictures of them and other cars they keep closer to the vest and camouflage them more to hide what they are? Of course they do. Lexus wants people to take pictures of this car and put them in articles like this because it creates excitement like is happening here. This is marketing and PR 101.

I was referring to the ES. Public road testing for cars is a must because that's how they're finalized for road and traffic conditions. You cannot "hide" a car from the road because there's no other way to test public roads without making the car drive on them.

Lexus has already announced the GT3 will be racing starting in 2026. That gives us a late '25 to early-mid '26 debut timeline for the LFR/LFA II.
Also we had been seeing the GT3 version of this car in spy shots, as it is being developed GT3-first, road car second, and these are it's FIRST time being spied on the road.
I don't think this car will be dated at launch, Lexus cancelled the LC-F because reportedly they kept adding power to the engine and needing to increase aero or stiffness which in turn was adding more weight; this car will be much more properly set up for it's power levels.

Since the recent Nurburgring-esque testing facility has opened up Toyota/Lexus has stopped a majority of on-road public testing. Generally for most new Toyo/Lexus we don't see prototypes on the road in the last few years till a few months before debut, unless it's a very US-centric model like Grand Highlander and Camry. Toyota kept the Prius, Crowns, RXs, etc hidden from the public eye till a few months from debut.
