The PCS and adaptive lights are the ones I’m most familiar with due to me owning my 2005 LS430 for 12+ years. The PCS has saved me from a few accidents where cars came to a dead stop in front of me on the highway. What really surprised me was that the newer Lexus’ PCS worked the same way.
The adaptive lighting is really impressive as well and makes a big difference driving at night as well. I got used to it on my LS430 and the newer Lexus’ I’d bring home from work. My 01 GS300 and 2018 F-Pace don’t have it and both cars are terrifying to drive at night due to the extremely dim factory headlights. It really helped when making turns.
Adaptive headlights are awesome, but Lexus didn't invent them. Tucker had one in the 1940s (albeit just the weird one in the middle). Citroen had adaptive lights in the traditional locations starting with the 1967 DS19.
But even in the modern era, they weren't first. The E65 7-series, introduced in 2001, had them.
I can't imagine how neat and luxurious that was back then.
Actually, I can. I used to make my mother take me to the Lexus dealer if I got good grades, that was my reward. They had an LS400 set up on a trickle to show off the gauges.
This was early 90s when the dealer was the size of a Jiffy Lube, now it's enormous and in a completely different place.
