2026 Audi A5/S5
TBF Quattro Ultra is already in the V6 A6 and A7 and doesn't function like Haldex, it's a predictive system and can still send more power to the rear than the front when cornering and such so in practice it's no different than the standard Torsen Quattro.
The only reason the S5 doesn't have it is because Ultra isn't compatible with the rear sport differential.

Not if its been mentioned on this thread but I heard on the Doug Demiro Podcast that this is meant to replace the A4/S4, as they have decided to use the even numbers to denote that the car is an EV, and use odd numbers for ICE(as mentioned on the podcast).
yes, i don't know why car makers use it... it can't be that much cheaper than other options. i guess some consumers fall for the 'shiny stuff'.
maybe you can update your post now that you've actually read the article which contradicts its headline.

modern cars are amazing.
Looks are growing on me (never disliked it), and I love a good hatchback, best of all worlds in my opinion. Plus I'd only consider an RS5 but if the S5 had any shot before, its immediately out now. No thank you!

I personally love the proportions and design of this new B10 A5/S5. Nice yet subtle flares on the fenders will age better IMO than the current A4 and A5 bodylines. I also love the more traditional roofline as I'm generally not a huge fan of the fastback look. Powerdome hood is a plus.
The first new car we ever bought was a 1998 Mercedes C Class wagon.
As am aside, BMW is bringing the M5 wagon to the US for the first time.
I'm praying we get the S5 Avant in the states.
Yes, I've seen the headlines saying it's not coming to the US. However, I'm still holding out hope for it - Audi can definitely make a niche business case for it here given the S5 Coupe, Cab, and A4 Allroad are gone.

Don't even get me started on the A6 e-Tron.. my god that thing is atrocious. With the snap of a finger.. the Germans' classy midsize exec sedans all went to ****.. the BMW i5 looks like a Kia, the EQE is a weird blob, and the A6e is bloated and wimpy looking. At least the E-Class ICE has okay proportions, and that upcoming A7 sedan looks decent too.

those a5 / a5 avant all look very 'classic' but no longer 'modern'. yes, a lot of recent 'modern' euro designs have been hideous but going backwards isn't the right move by audi i don't think. and from the front (pic above) that a5 looks more kia than luxury car.
