2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance
I have driven the model 3 and Y performance - they are good driving cars.
There is absolutely zero desire for me to change my M3 for one though. Just very different driving experience. M3 shifts through gears, makes noise, has a rev range, turbos etc.
The F80 M3 like i have is not great car to have if you want to launch from a stop or race from a red light. It is great on a roll though once you can put the power down. The new G80 M3 with AWD are more similar to Model 3.

I will co-sign on The Model 3 outselling the M3
I don't care about top speed, I rarely go above 80. I don't care about rolling races, I personally care about 0 to 80. I'm pretty confident M3 loses from a dig to 80 going against the New Model 3 Performance. I've easily taken my friends M3 Competition from a dig in my Polestar. He did a lot better if I let him "launch", and even better doing a 50 mph rolling start, but that's because I have 476 HP vs his 503 HP. Despite having more HP, he can't beat me from a dig if we both just mash down on the throttle

Even the M2 competition can rip off a sprint to 60 in 3.5 seconds. I have couple track buddies with M2 comp and they are pretty good out the box.
EVs/hybrids respond better by just mashing the throttle on digs.
LOL are you sure those are big giant brakes? Maybe in the front but if they are like the Plaid, those big giant brakes in the rear are just caliper covers like you would get at Pep Boys.

Turbos need to spool. When he “launch”/brake boost I’m sure it rips out the hole!! M3 competition 0-60 is around 2.7-2.8 seconds.

The front are bigger, not the rear lol 🤣 Rear are the same size as the regular Model 3

exactly.
Of course I know that, I'm not putting down the M2 or M3, I'm just saying is they need an extra step, or a "push" as well as more HP to compete with an EV off the line. That said, all of that really doesn't matter in the big picture, because it's more about the driving experience than beating another car in a race. I want a good daily driver that's quiet, smooth, and quick when I need it, like merging into traffic
Can’t let you continue to spread this false narrative about EVs always spanking gas vehicles and being better at everything. 😝
but in the spirit, there will always be examples of fossil burners beating ev's and i'm sure you'll keep digging them up.
fossil burners (TODAY) are better at some things like range, refueling speed, and making lots of noise (if you consider that better, i don't).
