I tend to agree with AJT. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

GMC has a different clientele, and they definately sell well.
Escalade is much more expensive, so hard to say its a better buy. A Yukon Denali is really nice.
Last gen they barely changed anything except the material the grill appeared to be made of, no head or tail light changes.

Like we've said, they're smart to leave them mostly alone.

I seriously don't know what they were thinking with those exhausts, the quad exhausts are awesome. They look very high quality and I always walk up to the truck and remote start it when approaching from the rear to hear the rumble. I wish the LX sounded like this exhaust-wise.

I had a feeling the refresh would be no better or worse, good.

I really don't think an Escalade is worth the extra cash, not that much at least. Yes it is supppppper nice inside, but so is the Denali.

For example ere are SEVEN layers of stitched leather, it's over the top inside:

A layer or two of that may be faux but trust me, it's stunningly nice in there. Escalade isn't worth the extra money. Escalade V is, at least the MSRP.

I think they still look good but from the back it's zzzzzz.... Only the Escalade looked great from the rear in that gen, IMO.

I see why they added the quads and made the rear end way more interesting this gen.

I’m at the ice rink with my kid and the exact Denali in black like yours was right up front. I agree the quad tailpipes look much better and I would like to see them keep those. The headlights I’m indifferent on. It’s a big *** truck though, I don’t think I want to drive that every day.

And as for the Yukon or Escalade, I would still get the Escalade for myself. Family vehicle I would get the Yukon.

I have no idea what these would lease for, but you would pay a significant amount more? Remember they're gonna drive basically the exact same.

I get it though, there's a million of them I see a day. Escalade is the king of them all, undisputed. At least the American made BOFs.

Mopars are not my favorite but that does sound good.

The Grand Wagoneers look good.

I'm not a Mopar person but yes I did quite like the killer Hemi the Grand Wagoneer HAD. It was quicker than the GMs.

Now that they scrapped that and it's now powered by the most overstressed engine I've ever seen delivering the same or worse fuel economy, it's not so impressive.

New one will be fine I'm sure, power levels are gonna be like the B58 as well so it will smack around nearly everything GM has an in required to support any Mopar I-6 engine as that's the only 6 cyl engine I will endorse enough to own lol!

So are you thinking the Grand Wagoneer is Mopar's answer to the Yukon for size and price point?

Or would another model be a closer match?

Can we please add the Cummins turbo diesel to the list.

I bought a 3/4 Dodge Ram just for that engine.

Sold it a few years ago and wished I kept it but it was dying a slow death not being driven.

Did I need a turbo diesel?
Hell no, I just wanted it! Haha

Hauled some stuff from Lowe's a few times and some pallets of landscape pebble for wife's flower beds, whoop de doo. Lol

ol
Not it's closer to an Escalade competitor... it's significantly more expensive than a Denali.

I saw some power figures for the new GM V8 small block coming out, who knows if true or not but it sounds about right at least. About 525hp and 500ft/lbs of torque.

The lease might actually not be much more because of better residuals. Anyways people buy these not lease them for the 179 deduction.

For me I want a luxury car, I’m not going to drive a mainstream car no matter how nice it is. They’re also not exactly the same, the Escalade is going to have better dampeners, more sound isolation, better audio, better materials, better seats, better tech and displays etc.

Not really, the Wagoneer is much cheaper and is the same vehicle and a Grand Wagoneer with all the stuff is like $110k, remember Chryslers have HUGE rebates too.

I prefer the Denali before refresh but both are fine. They’re way out of price range though. 😭
