J D Power just released their 2024 dependability study. This is based on 2021 vehicles that owners responded to their surveys. Lexus #1 again two years in a row and 24 out of 28 years. The RX most dependable luxury midsize SUV again.

This is what happens when you don’t have any leading tech features and also have powertrains dating back over 10 years.

Lexus continues to win/retain clients with is reliability.
They could have done much more as a brand though.

Not surprising to me. 5 Lexus vehicles and I've never had an issue or warranty repair.

I certainly wasn’t that lucky.

Indeed you were not. One RX, one IS, and three GSs, but not a single issue or claim for me.

Don’t get me wrong they were very reliable but not perfect. Every Lexus I have had has had some sort of warranty repair.

i think your cars couldn't have being cleaned so much and had a nervous 'breakdown'.

With this, I hope we can accept that the myth of Japanese car reliability has been dead for some time now. It's literally just Toyota and occasionally Mazda. Hondacura and Nissanfiniti have been subpar for years on this list and continue sinking to the bottom.

Meanwhile, BMW seems to have figured out their issues and have been gradually climbing up with the G cars and B engines. That's quite impressive.

My IS350F had a cracked head gasket at 83k miles/6 years despite being dealer maintained since day 1. Meanwhile my many Hondas/Acuras never had a single issue, even at 150k+ miles.

My ex gf blew a head gasket on her Honda Civic at 99k miles.

Just before it flipped 100k, almost made it. Lol
