And I still think the Tesla crossovers look hideous…..
if you want the handling of an SUV with the functionality of a sedan then be my guest lol... but i will 10 times out of 10 take this:

over this:

just looks like an SUV that melted... you get all of the SUV drawbacks and none of the coupe benefits

Yup! The GLE Coupe looks more attractive to my eyes. The standard GLE is very bloblike, too fat at the bottom and narrow at the roof, the ultra wide tires just accentuate the pear shape and I hate those droopy looking taillights. The coupe version though still quite ungainly looks more athletic and attractive.

I would be buying an X6 or a GV80 coupe over this most likely.

i think BMW is to blame for originally doing the X6, then mercedes eventually follows and now the trend is further infecting the product lines
I don't remember what came first, did X6 start the trend or Acura ZDX before it?

BMW x6 came first in 2007.

i like acura, especially in the mid 00s, but acura doesn't set styling trends lol

BMW calls this the 4 Series Grand Coupe. Hatchback opening in the rear seats fold flat. I like the styling better than the humpback look but unfortunately the current gen has the new controversial grill.

I can't decide whether I like it or not. Some days, I think I see it out in the wild and think it looks decent. Others, I think it looks a little bloated and long. Honestly, I'd just take a 3er instead - cheaper and better-looking.

that's a big improvement over the X4, but i just don't think BMW styling works as well as a fastback (or whatever this is)... the regular 4 series and 3 series each look more balanced to me

the first gen mercedes CLS i think looks great since it looks like the entire car was designed with harmony in mind from the start, the gran coupe looks more like an afterthought... that high rear trunk lid makes it look like the car was only ever intended to be a sedan

well that's interesting then lol, normally people specifically compliment the GLE tail lights! even my uncle who normally prefers old school stuff almost immediately complimented the GLE tail lights when my parents got the car

i do agree though that when AMG appearance'd out like in the 53 model the super wide tires make it look a bit goofy... i actually prefer the previous gen GLE styling overall to the current model, it was a bit more upright with more pronounced styling elements and still had those lovely hood vents that mercedes used to do

When we were recently shopping for our X3 we took a look at this 4 Series. I liked it better than my wife. She couldn't get past the new grill. The X3 was an easier decision for both of us. No regrets. I agree, a 3 Series would be a better choice vs, the 4 Series.
