in that case i do feel your pain, i also think you went into that car with the wrong expectations... despite looking so cool the SL is not a sports car, at least not in the way a 911 is, which is a proper thoroughbred by any account or interpretation of the word

an SL63 is meant to cruise around with the top down, but if necessary can DESTROY just about any other car on the road while only needing to go from 2500 to 4500 rpm, try to push it in a track like setting however (as you found out lol) and it's clearly not what it was designed to do

i'm fortunate to have gotten to go flat out in both a 996 and 991.1 carrera s and WOW are those upper rpms just incredible! i'm a V8 guy to the end but that flat 6 just makes a pure symphony above 6000 rpm, in no way would i feel like i'm settling by having fewer cylinders

I've traded cars yearly for probably the last 10 years. Not because I didn't like them. I just love cars.
