New daily driver/MK4 ALH TDI
If I redline it in 1st and 2nd I'm only barely able to keep just ahead of common traffic haha
Car is 2/3ds of its way to paying for itself. Zero issues have come up other than the antenna snapping off, new one cost $7.20
Wife has fully hi jacked it though, I've not driven it for 3 weeks now after she discovered the entertainment value of a turbo and manual trans. The woosh is very entertaining to her lol! She thankfully doesn't mind the lack of speed but is going to tune it anyway for more mpg and increases turbo noise
Monthly fuel savings vs the Jeep is totaling over $500 so I'm going to buy an extra car with the conserved fuel money lol!

Next she'll want a 911 with manual.
It's a slippery slope. Haha
Lost a rear turn signal bulb, nothing else to really report on other than the wife has fully taken the car over and personally opted to pay for tint and tune.
All rear bulbs have been replaced now

wow i somehow missed that you had an MK4 among your stable of power houses!
this gen VWs have a soft spot in my heart. i briefly owned a 2."slow" manual MK4 2-dr golf, no frills, but indeed it was super fun to drive!
at the same time my dad had a super short stint (3 days LOL) with the same gen jetta VR6...i can still recall the interior smell, crayon-like! he sold it before it broke!
now knowing you have one too, if i can find a cheap 4-dr golf TDI i would bite!

He did anyway and traded it in at 40k miles when the tranamission took a dump.
I'm not an, "I told you so" kind of person but I did warn him. Lol
With the advent of snow we have quickly discovered the major issue with this car and all older diesels first hand....the heat sucks.
The car never hits operating temp and the vents do like 65-70 at best and only when you are maintaining decent RPM, leave it idling and you get nearly nothing, this actually really sucks when the car isn't leaving from home where we have the block heater plugged in. I will attempt to shove some plastic poster board backer in front of the rad because this just sucks.
I have been using the Jeep to go back and worth between my friends new house that is 2.34 miles away door to door and it gets heat 1.3 miles into the trip. Jetta just doesn't get a thing at 3x that distance, I knew it wouldn't be nearly as good as a gas car but this actually sucks....
