A lot of German cars as well as some other makes sold in Germany have a feature where you can leave the left side parking lights on. This is something people do when the car is parked on a narrow street. There are plenty of those in Europe. In many situations, there is a small curb and you need to park with the right side tires on the curb. This all was my experience more than 30 years ago. There is probably some new tech such as a timer or remote on/off.

Love my foglights. In normal night time driving, they do a fantastic job of lighting the side of the road. And a small number of times I've driven in fog so thick that visibility was better with ONLY the foglights (headlights off).

to me they're just a status thing lol... i also can't really tell if they provide any help with driving through fog but they looks nice in pics

what i have no tolerance for is plastic inserts where fog lights would otherwise go if they were optioned

Lexus won’t let you drive with just the fog lights on. Only with the low beams on.

independent fog light control would be nice... fog lights + running lights only would be a nicer look with the matching halogen bulb color

the W211 lets you basically do an equivalent of that, something like this:

sorry for the watermark lol

On my Grandparents Mercedes sedans. The car would do just that after exiting and closing the doors at night, fog lights on plus parking lights for minute.

Same here. Completely agree. Also, I would rather have oncoming traffic see a set of two headlights and a set of two fog lights. Especially in rainy or bad weather.

Fog lights are essential IMO. And then enhance the exterior looks of the vehicle too

That's what I thought as well when I saw them. Apparently Audi does nearly all fog lights via the main headlamp with an internal bulb/array for pointing low.

My exhausts are real though lol!

Yeah it's annoying for sure, my domestic truck allows fogs only (they are actually really good) and my Audis I recoded to allow me control of every part of the lights at will. I can go full dark with no DRLs, or turn everything on in sequence or even drive full dark with only thermals running.

Problem I'm trying to solve right now is I can't find a way to have all interior lights off as well so I can drive with my NVGs only. The cluster is always partially lit if the car is on, it causes my tubes to gate down a little far for starless nights.

Ha looks like you will have to find an excuse to go over there when she isn’t there.

I find they add illumination in the front which is a good thing.

Even though there’s a good reason, I’m not a fan of these convex MB emblems. MB star isn’t supposed to be bubbly.
Lexus basically does it the same way. They don’t look bubbly or convex to me
