Your 2004 LS430 was way less complex than an LS460. I had an LS430 too, and an LS400. No multi-link suspension, had the same issues with air suspension, no electronic brake actuator, no high pressure fuel or coolant system, no aluminum used in any of its construction or suspension, etc. No, Lexus has certainly not updated the part. if they had it would have been used in my late build 2017 LS460 since actuators had been failing for 10 years before that car was built.

In any event, you should not have to replace a $4,000 brake actuator ever....let alone so early in the cars life.

Would you be surprised to know that the MB extended warranty on my S Class is CHEAPER than the Lexus extended warranty on my LS460s? Theres a reason.

You clearly don't know much about these cars, they never fixed ANY of the issues. You are now seeing owners with 2015 cars complain about all the same stuff as the 07s

Its actually kind of shocking how they never made any effort to fix that stuff...

Mine did and I've personally replaced 13 of them.

You own a 430, not a 460. They are vastly different cars in every respect

they improved the suspension comfort and transmission programming after that first year, but they're all reliable.

The LS air suspension failures are a tale as old as Lexus. Zero effort ever made to improve them. By the time I got my 92 LS400, the air suspension had already failed and been replaced with traditional shocks which was basically the standard thing to do.

CR has definitely showed those facts in their ratings. Perhaps you missed it. The brakes and suspension both showed trouble areas even worse in prior years.

What chart are you looking at? In the LS chart I see green for brakes all across the years for the LS, which makes no sense given the expensive actuator failures.

His point is that you can't just look at data like this, you need to talk to people who know the cars well and get a real idea of what is going on.

No they don't. They somehow fail to note the actuator failure that is literally more expensive than me blowing the turbos on my German

I consider Euro automatically a -1 for reliability off the bat, no matter what model.

But, they get a +2 for coolness and styling and etc.

No, CR asks their subscribers not a population of the owners of a vehicle.

LS430 is so reliable it's almost crazy, it's a brick with 4 wheels.

They just don't stop. I've been with my spouse for over 10.5 years and yesterday I was commenting on how I had the same car then when we started dating... and how it drives ZERO differently now than it did when we met.
