not quite sure your point, but yes... do we have any idea when this '24 will be available?

if it fits your narrative, fine. an alternative... lease. :D

I've never leased but within that family of brands I think I'd give it heavy consideration. Especially on something as high end and expensive as G90 with this shorter release cycle.

as you might recall i did that with a 2018 g90. it was a 3 year lease, and a great experience.

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this, but, from this angle, It looks a lot like a traditional Range Rover.

I really like the exterior & interior on this except for the terrible rear end. Really brings the whole vehicle down, tail lights somehow have a Daihatsu feel to them

Yes, this has been mentioned for many months with all the spy shots of this vehicle, especially on the Hyundai owner forums.

Thats what it is. I have been trying to think of what the rear reminds me of, it’s a Daihatsu, I think they were going for G Wagen and didn’t succeed.

Otherwise I really like it.

well yes, it's a big box, but it's front wheel drive architecture gives away that it's not the same.

not familiar with the daihatsu reference, but about rear suv design in general, car makers have a dilemma because tail lights must be visible when the hatch is opened as well as closed so they either put 2 sets of lights on or one set positioned low and it looks like hyundai went for the latter on this one, which is cleaner, less complex, and less cost. i also like how they've used the 'H' light pattern on both the back and the front.

i think my original turn off was that bronze color (not my thing). i like it way better in the white which is surprising to me because i generally don't like white as a car color.
another huge plus to me is they haven't gone for the ridiculous 6 foot high hood like gm/ford, etc. the front is quite restrained.

i'm 6'3" and stood in front of a gm silverado yesterday and the hood came up to my neck. :egads:

SW17LS 07-20-23 06:26 AM

Oh yeah, the hood height is insane

No doubt they have some decisions and challenges in design and placement like every SUV manufacturer out there, they just made the wrong one on this vehicle (for the rear at least, the rest is great (to me at least))

SW17LS 07-20-23 07:09 AM

Yep, perfect example

TangoRed 07-20-23 07:32 AM

The more pictures I see of the rear end the more I like it actually. It's a bit brutalist in nature. I think it will remain divisive for some time but then people will get used to it.

jrmckinley 07-20-23 07:45 AM

I wish they put the tail lights higher. I think it looks weird. And I guess I see some Range Rover cues, but I think this is reminding me more of a Ford Flex in overall shape and design.

I really hope this is not how it'll look in lower level trim....

ha, well i'm sure that wasn't their 'inspiration', it's more about maximizing cargo space (vertical back), but yes, the lights are low the panel above it aligns with the sides... maybe to make it look bigger. i think it looks cohesive in 3/4 view.

and this:

i take back what i said about the low tail lights being that way to be visible when the hatch is opened. this pic would indicate otherwise. HUGE opening.
