Default Auto and EV Data points: Latest EV Insights: Trend Reports (Updated 5/31/24)

*** Updated 6/03/24 *** Added - State of the Automotive Finance Market Q1 2024 PDF
*** Updated 5/31/24 *** Added - Q4 EV 2023 Year in Review Infographic - PDF and Jpeg ---- Added - Q4 Summary: Quarterly Auto Trends (with EV Highlights) - PDF and Jpeg

experian-safm-q1-2024.pdf
Here is a compilation of automotive reports regarding market, finance, and consumer trends primarily for Q2 as they relate to the automotive industry, including EVs. Although it covers non-luxury and ICE cars as well, each report contains relevant information about the EV market, including luxury brands like Mercedes.
I found much of the info. insightful and interesting

The Automotive Trends reports are divided into three sections -

1. Market Trends:
A review of quarterly changes in Vehicles in Operation (VIO) by model, year, segment, age, and market share. Also analyzed are light and heavy-duty vehicles across geographies with a special market analysis into a specific topic each quarter.

2. Consumer Trends:
Each quarter will focus on a specific vehicle segment and the consumers who purchase those vehicles. Also analyzed are the consumer demographic and psychographic insights for the consumers in that vehicle segment.

3. Finance Trends:
Insights into the latest automotive financing trends by lender, transaction type, loan balances, risk distribution, delinquency rates for new and used vehicles, plus other special segments that are featured each quarter.

I have provided PDFs for the entirety of each report, as well as extracted parts that I found most interesting and relevant to our interests. Additionally, for those who are too lazy to read the whole report, like myself (even though I did have to wade through their entirety in order to find the snippets), I have included excerpts relevant to EVs, Mercedes, and EQS. When reviewing the reports, it's important to keep in mind that they are tailored to professionals in the automotive industry.

I found some intriguing information about leasing in the excerpts I extracted.

Enjoy!

If you're anything like me - a data nerd with a love for graphs and charts - you'll get a kick out of the insights shared here. It's like peeking through a window into the secret lives of markets and trends! But if you're not a fan of data, don't worry. You're not alone. Some people just prefer to live on the wild side and let the market surprises keep them on their toes! Just remember, numbers never lie, they just sometimes make us wish they did! 😜

There's a lot of interesting information here. The most interesting to me was leasing %'s etc. by brand.

UltraLux, where did you get these slides?
and thanks for sharing.

interesting info.

says 77% of ev's are 'luxury' and vast majority are tesla model 3 and y. i continue to laugh at the view that tesla 3 and Y are 'luxury vehicles' though.

Thanks for the thanks!
I worked for Toyota years ago, and I still have access-type credentials that allow me to review some automotive professional resources. Recently, I came across a PowerPoint presentation that Experian had done for automotive professionals to understand and market-based on much of this data effectively. From what I can tell, they frequently, if not every quarter, have these types of presentations and contain valuable information about EVs. I didn't pay much attention to it back then as I didn't own an EV. However, now that I have one, I find myself taking a keen interest in the subject.

Ask and you shall receive, but only because you asked nicely; here you go! Well, um, I mean, there you go, you'll have to look up. HA!
