Question Mb Clk 430

I own an IS300 myself, and have found this site very helpful..... I was hoping someone here can help me out.

I recently purchased a 2001 MB CLK 430 for wifey. I like it almost as much as my Lexus, but want to get some new rims and tires for it. I am willing to spend about $2500. I am looking for something 18" and chrome, but noting too "blingy." Also, no imitations and trying ride quality close to stock. Any help would be appreciative.... Is it even feasible to get a good rim and tire for that amount of money? Thanks

Thanks for your help guys.....

The AMGs were my first thought. I really like the AMG Double spoke in chrome (from Tire Rack), but the only problem is they seem to be only offered in 17". I was thinking about going to 18", but I guess it might not look as good if I don't get a drop with them.

When you purchase them, as a rim and tire package, from Tire Rack, they come with some tires I never heard of. Is there any way to upgrade them without buying everything seperately? If not, any suggestions on tires. I have heard good reviews about the GY Eagle F1s (I think that is the name). Also, would you guys go with the wider tire in the back?

Thanks again.

I wouldnt get AMG's they are a bit too common. For 2500 you are better off buying someone else's Brabus/Lorinsers/HRE's. Best place to go is MBWorld.org to see some of the nices modest benzo's around-but unfortunately the site is down right now. Check there Tuesday and 'troll' the W208/W203 forums.

i have been driving a 2001 mbz clk 430 this whole week and all i can say is WOW. this thing is freakin strong no matter from what speed you step on it at. and it sounds awsome too.

About rims. well the one i'm driving has the factory 17" amg staggered rims and they look perfect. not too big and not too small.
