Everyone wants EVs, nobody cares about manuals or driving for that matter.
Soon we will have self driving EV cars going the speed limit while we can scroll social media. The future looks bright!
or put on a vr headset and not care less how long the trip takes or don't even care if we've even reached the destination. pretend to work while our ai answers emails. people will be found slumped over in dead battery ev's dead from dehydration and starvation, but with popular social media profiles or game scores.

Unfortunately the rat race and endless traffic jams have made ppl hate cars. It’s evident in current car design where all controls dedicated to driving are being removed and put into digital screens. The automakers want ppl to think they are doing anything else besides driving a car.
Pleasure of driving and freedom to go anywhere was once a distraction for ppl from their everyday life, now you can just go on your phone/ipad click on YouTube and pretend your driving a Lambo or even better VR / playstation.
When you think about it, we are going from 3 pedal driving to 1 pedal driving in EVs as well as no active driving with auto pilot type of technology.
I don't think we're at the point yet where we will have true 1-pedal driving for awhile. Even with regenerative braking, there will still be a need for a separate brake pedal when the regenerative braking is not enough for conditions. And as for TRUE self-driving capability, well..........................Don't hold your breath.
