George Carlin summed this up pretty well.

Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?”

It's just pointless, unless you don't care about tickets and being pulled over. Don't get me wrong I am 100% pro-police but getting pulled over is stressful and very very annoying and will ruin your afternoon/day etc.

Same, never a problem. I do 4 under just to be extra careful. I'm passed a lot. So if there's police, those people will be the ones that get pulled over. Happens all the time including that other night, haha.

Seriously! It's just not worth it.

Fortunately almost all of my commute is a 2 lane stretch so I can let the speed maniacs pass me in the very early am.

You were probably lucky you didn't either lose your insurance or have to pay sky-high premiums.

Although there are a few exceptions, in most cases, experience (including my own) shows that, in most cases, if you treat the cop with respect, he or she will also do the same with you....and sometimes just let you off with a warning or a "Have a Nice Day". Those cases that make the news and end up with the suspect being roughed-up, tazed, or, in some cases, even shot by police are usually with suspects that try to flee, mouth off to them and curse, try to pull a weapon, or think they know more abut the law than the cops.

Chris Rock made an excellent video on how to deal with police-stops and avoid confrontations, but I won't post it here because it is somewhat political and contains four-letter words. If you want to watch it, PM me, and I'll send it to you.

I was kicked off my parents' primo USAA insurance within 6-12 months. I can't remember exact timeframe but it sure wasn't long until they canceled me.

Of course, the Golden Rule goes a long way in life including with law enforcement....firm firm believer in it, but getting pilled over is still stressful. I hate sitting there with lights on me like I'm a criminal, and EVERYONE stares at you as they drive by. Getting a ticket would ruin my day, some maybe not. I'm not nor really ever have been lucky with warnings.

Chris Rock’s “instructional” video about getting stopped by the police. LOL

Im always kind and respectful, but I’m not afraid of the police nor will I ever be. If they want to kick my a, I’m going to own theirs lol

Maybe, maybe not......depends on circumstances.

If you ARE kind and respectful, you won't have to worry about getting it kicked in the first place. That's the whole gist of Chris's (excellent) video.

Chris Rock’s video is comedy.

Unfortunately, many cops are on power trips and that’s not necessarily true, especially for people from certain races. Even I have encountered cops in my life that were total and complete a-holes. Most are great people, but unfortunately many of the bad ones are traffic cops.

We are way off topic though

Anyhow, back on topic, I haven't weighed in yet on the choice between a 3.5L Ecoboost and a N/A 6.2. I'd probably choose the 3.5L, despite the added complexity and reputation of some Ecoboost engines for unreliability. The 6.2 is just overkill for most of the type of driving I do.

Actually, it's common sense. Most of those scenes in the video actually happen.

I don't get stopped very often because of my generally good driving habits, but if and when it happens, I have found most cops to be very reasonable. Only one was what I'd call a jerk....in the City of Fairfax. Even then, he didn't hit me with a ticket.....just rude in his questioning (claimed I cut him off at an intersection)...and wanted to know where I was going.

We are way off topic though

Agreed.....see my last post, above.

That's the point. Lol

I'd get the 6.2L if it was a vehicle I was keeping long term.

I'd do the Ecoboost if I was buying new or low mileage used and trade it before 100k miles.

With Ecoboost, I'd tow for occasional recreational use but NOT for work use towing heavy loads on a daily basis.

Ps- I'll go ahead and start a new thread on the speeding stuff.
