Made it home, short version.... This last tank of gas from Columbus to Knoxville I was on it, the last thing I cared about was gas mileage and I didn't use cruise control and drove sort of aggressively and the last hour was mountains. We were doing 70-95, and in a hurry to get home, how people are on the last stretch of a trip when they're on the home stretch. MPG result? Still solid.
55mph for 75mi... how did you suffer through such a boring drive?
I thought maybe people would wonder how that sounded after I posted it. LOL. We were at a wedding halfway between two cities and the drive home back to in-laws was roughly 75 miles, the timing just worked out well.

Everybody does lol, or a lot of people. Dying for my house bed and TV, etc. Lots more downshifts and heavier foot on the gas on that tank, and I wasn't thinking of fuel economy at all.
The WORSTTTTTTT is coming back from Florida and having to drive that last 90 or so miles from Chattanooga to Knoxville. I'm sure everyone has an "equal" story in their own location.

Not in my location, but just knowing that anytime I'm on the turnpike in Ohio, I have to set the cruise at 2mph under. If I actually reach the speed limit, I will be instantly teleported to the side of the road with a speeding ticket in my hand.
Seriously. My dad is 78 years old, is an ultra-conservative slow driver, and has a speeding ticket from Ohio.

We were just on I-71 through literally the whole state, never any problems... Speed limit is 70 and I set it at about 74. Didn't see any cops.
I'm shocked you could get pulled over that way, cops almost always give you at a minimum a 5 over leeway. More even.

Depends on the cop really. Are they bored? Do you have a nice car? Does it look "fast"? You can get a ticket at any speed over the limit really. It just gets sketchy if it's a ticket for something like 2 over the limit because if you fight it, they may need to prove the radar was accurate. On the other hand, they may just warn you as long as you don't talk yourself into a ticket.

I feel like if they nab someone for DUI, for example, they'll use the speeding (no matter how little) to say that was the PC to pull them over.
I stopped speeding long ago on trips just because it's not worth tickets and slamming on your brakes every time you see police, to what...get there 15-30 minutes earlier? I'll never set cruise control more than 4-5 over, never had any problems or been pulled over once since I quit speeding.
What state are you talking about? If a cop pulled me over for 2 over I would be like "Are you kidding me?" Drunks driving and drugs being transported on these interstates, yet hassling me for 2mph?
