Me either but I'm not going to dismiss it without first trying. When I first saw the Model 3 interior I thought Tesla had lost their damn minds. I was very wrong.
But I also thought I would never get used to everything being in the screen, but here we are
I love the unobstructed view it's awesome.

Um it's much more than a tune...plaids run 9.4s stock and 8.8s gutted....g82s tuned runs high 9s, quite a testament to their tuning capability no doubt. But require new turbos, upgraded tranny etc to run faster, and which will easily make it cost more than a base plaid. And that's on full e85, drag radials, etc and even then good luck with reliability and no warranty.

But can we keep this on point to highland and not make it an ice vs EV debate (again)?

Just to reiterate one of the rumors with highland refresh, it is supposed to get a new 66kW CATL LFP battery pack that will enable it to go near 300miles for the base model! That would move the bar for mileage efficiency that much higher as other ones struggle to barely get to mid 250range now.

What I would really like to see is the performance model be upgraded with the motors from base model s long range to get 660+ hp rating to fend off the new m50s and huyndai n lines of the world. That should make it an easy stock 10sec quarter mile car and better yet be able to do maintain its quickness ok highway rolls, which it sucks at now.

Why not do a Plaid version of every model? Too much?

LOL I’m fine without stalks but I like the stalks in my rental much better. The stalks in Teslas are really nice though, very good quality and feel like any of the luxury automakers. My wife actually likes the buttons on the wheel though.

Just like the yoke, don’t knock it until you try it.

I don't think it's an option. Keeping the Plaid Model S and X is fine. Would the bigger 100 kWh battery even fit in the model 3 or Y?

I love the stalks as well, they are implemented very good. Hyundai now uses a similar stalk for the shifter in the Ioniq 5, except it has a **** on it. They also have the windshield wiper stalk next to it, which causes you to grab the wrong stalk if you are in a hurry or not looking. You can see now why Tesla simplified it by adding a button on the signal stalk for wipers

They could make a smaller pack with 1865 cells, Plaid style motors etc. only problem is it would beat the Model S.

Speaking strictly about myself, although I don't track, I am somewhat of an enthusiast, and Tesla's meet one hundred percent of my needs....they are powerful and fast when I need it to be, and have dual use as efficient family haulers at the same time.

No one is asking you like or buy a Tesla, just to think about what you are saying when comparing them to a Camry, as I know several BMW owners (3 series, 5 series and X owners) who jumped ship and bought a Model Y or X and never looked back (I'm not saying one is better than the other as I've never owned a bmw)
I have driven BMWs for years and tested out several Teslas, most recently Model Y Performance as possible replacement for X3 M40i. There is not one area in which i felt the Tesla was superior. Not in performance, luxury, tech, fit/finish etc.
I personally can’t understand how ppl can buy these cars if you previously owned a luxury brand. The downgrade is really significant.

Now if the goal is to save $$$ or make a statement to help environment then yes, I can see how Tesla can win out.

Tesla is using Toyota template - limited options, inoffensive styling, appeal to masses, streamlined production etc.

End product is just vanilla, nothing wrong with that but it’s not how most luxury automakers appeal to their customer base.

Nobody will confuse Taycan with Model S. One is a beautiful design, the other is generic car that looks like all the other Teslas. The interiors are even more different.

I don't know man, I've never owned a BMW in my life, but I've owned or driven almost everything, and IMO my Model Y is one of the best cars I've ever owned. One of my co-worker who I've worked with since 2008 is a total BMW guy. He's been leasing BMW's for the last 20 years and is trading in his 3 Series for a Model Y....over an X3 he was looking at leasing. This guy makes bucks, so it's not about saving money in his case.

I can only tell you from my perspective, it has very little to do with saving money and nothing to with saving the environment or making a statement. And I don't see it as a downgrade, but an upgrade. After going EV, gasoline cars feel primitive (no offence intended), I can never go back. I guess different strokes for different folks

Lol...I owned a (tuned) X3M, prefer my MYP for speed, tech, ride, simplicity, reliability, maintenance, etc. I guess I'm not an enthusiast....🙃🙃
